We've updated our guide:

🍿 Cinema MoneySaving tips & tricks 🍿

Among other things, it includes a deal for every day of the week, a year's 2for1 movies for £1, free Odeon tickets for some, and the question of whether you're allowed to take your own food in.

If you have one, try your local Independent Cinema - our is just £4 a ticket all day, every day.

Before covid when we went to the cinema we would take our own snacks in in our handbags/rucksacks. Can someone REALLY stop you from taking your own food to the cinema? How strict are those rules?  We were prepared to have screaming habdabs if anyone told us. But nobody ever did. I would do it again, if and when I go back to the movies.
