I have a bulk LPG tank that supplies 2 cottages - both have meters - how do i calculate how much to charge per unit on the meter? i am paying 72.88 per litre for gas delivered to the tank . . . .

It's usually considered bad form to charge more than it costs you,so on that basis show them the bill and charge them what it costs you.
Depending how the meter measures the LPG,will guide what you should be charging per unit.

the meter reads in m3 - so cubic meter??
i only want to charge them fairly for what they use, at the price i pay to have the tank filled - the tank also supplies my house, but there is no meter on the supply to my house, so i need to be able to calculate it properly.
So if the meter says they have used 100 m3 the calculation is 100 x 3.7 x 72.88p ???? thanks for your help

As an aside, 72ppl is very expensive.  I currently pay 38ppl.

That 3.7 figure will depend on what pressure the gas is supplied at.  1 cubic metre of low-pressure gas contains fewer gas molecules than 1 cubic metre of high-pressure gas.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Not that it helps much, just to clarify this one bulk gas tank supplies the two cottages and your own property in addition?.
For reasonably accurate billing as mentioned above you'll need to convert the litre figure into the m3 figure, google possibly your friend here.
Don't know if you bought that gas during one of the price spikes or not,if not that's an outrageous price which could be bettered by searching internet and calling some suppliers, unless your in a contract and you have to use the one supplier.

yes i am in contract for 24 months fixed at 72p/L from october last year - what a rip-off!! i just got a quote from Avanti for 50p/L - that means that flogas could actually buy from Avanti and sell to me and still make a 50% profit!!!
Anyway, is my way of calculating what to charge correct? So if the meter says they have used 100 m3 the calculation is 100 x 3.7 x 72.88p ????

Unsure how your calculation works, not my strong point,if it's more or less equivalent to the amount you paid for the last fill amount then yes I'd say thats fair enough.

I have a M3 calor gas meter, and the calculation they use is Meter reading use X 3.85 X Price per litre
