Severn Trent 9.5% increase!

Just had our new bill for our unmetered water supply and waste.

Up 9.5% on last year.

No wonder inflation on the climb!

Not had mine yet (also ST) - there was another poster with over 10% in another supplier.

Just wondering - does your bill give increases for metered supply.? As more and more people move to meters and see a reduction of charges this means less income from them - as the supplier still needs income does it claw it back by increasing the rates for those customers who don't have meters.

I have a metered supply. I can't remember ever receiving any separate notification of increases. All I've received in the past is the next year's Direct Debit payments schedule(£9.05/month) which possibly includes any price rises. Currently paying £1.54/m3 for water, 98.3p/m3 waste water, 15p/day for surface water drainage.

From ST website 22/23 charges metered supply

A typical metered household bill (full service) is increasing by 8.1% (around £2.25 per month)
Water supply charges are rising by 6.6%
Charges for waste water are increasing by 9.6%

charges unmetered

Please be aware the following charges differ depending on the rateable value of your property and where you live:

A typical unmeasured household bill (full service) is increasing by 10.2% (around £3.50 per month)
Water supply charges are increasing by 10.7%
Charges for waste water treatment are increasing by 9.7%

@casjen No - just the mix of fresh water / waste and drainage (if applicable)

Water is different to Gas and Electric - you can't shop around.

When I went onto a meter I cut my bill by 50% but I had a high Rateable Value

I have just recieved my Severn Trent unmetered bill and it has increase from £444 to £525, an 18% increase! Currently on a Whatsapp chat to try to find out why ... Found out we had a £30 credit last year for low pressure so bill should have been £475 and the increase is now ONLY 11.25%

Sounds cheap to me - Anglian Water is £581, just for the unmetered standing charges, you've then got to add on the RV poundage at 31p in the £

Metered is a lot cheaper, I pay just over £300 and that includes washing the cars, caravan and watering the garden

And on mine! First time I am looking at a water bill and I have to pay standing charge for both fresh water and waste water?? Also, why are they charging the same amount of "usage" for fresh water and waste water? If I water the garden, the water isn't going to become waste water etc, so how do they get away with charging the same "usage" for fresh water and waste water?
