Made cottage pie last night and enough filling for tonight but topped it with sliced potatoes this time, both yum 😋 Lovely sunny morning so enjoyed a long walk with friend to nature reserve and along the river. A flock of lapwings were swirling above and flashing silver in the sun. Also spotted a muntjac and a couple of red kites. Lifted my mood as not been sleeping well as mind turning over problems. hopefully the few miles walk and fresh air will aid sleep tonight. Beautiful sky just before dusk tonight😊 night all 💤 I
quick 5, work is as mad and manic as ever but still eating my frogs - even ate one that came in about 4:30 1) my noon meeting finished 20 minutes early so I put a bowl of sausage stew on, took the boys for a very quick walk, ate my sausage stew and got to my next meeting in good time replete 2) last meeting finished at 4:30, took the boys for a much longer walk up Balgay - very windy and more tree damage, but a beautiful walk, very refreshing, and the boys had a good time 3) Chinese New Year - dd2 and I had black bean stir fry, courtesy of ys chicken breasts out of the freezer and the special from mr t 4) little panda biscuits for pudding - very sweet, think they were £1 a box 5) finished mine watching episode 4 of The Responder. oh and Luton won, a very good 3 points #COYH very tempted to watch the last episode but need my sleep, long day tomorrow, so instead classicfm and the next Marion Todd courtesy of the library
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
Hello. Bedtime. It’s windy but not quite as wild now. Just been a quick doggy walk.
A quiet day of catching up around the house. Bathrooms cleaned. Upstairs and downstairs hoovered and floors washed. Again! The joys of having a doggy!
Just me and my dog throughout the day then DD2 back home and then our friends came over for tea. First time since pre Covid! Felt like a normal thing to do again on a Tuesday evening.
We had sausages , leftover from work baked potatoes roasted. ( I cut the potatoes into chunks of four or six depending on size of spud and then pop them in freezer still in their foil from work) take them out of freezer as required, just hate the thought of them being chucked out. Still a parsnip mountain so a few of them too. Corn on the cob. Served with hamper chilli jam.
This afternoon I’d made a tiffin with hamper biscuits, hamper chocolate and Halloween chocolate pumpkins. And a rocky road made with hamper popcorn, holiday coco pops, sent from Australia chocolate. A small slice of each served with a scoop of ice cream for pudding. And the rest packed up and sent home with friend as well as hamper cake and hamper chocolate!
Much chatter in front of the log fire which was nice.
Washing was hung out in the very high wind! Noticed towel no longer in line, thought I would have to go looking for it but no it was lying dripping in one of the bird water bowls! Everything else was dry though!
2) Smaller son's new computer components arrived and he is very pleased indeed with them.
3) Hens OK.
4) No college this week (shut due to covid) but some work has actually been done at home. Some science and the start of a maths GCSE paper.
5) Smaller son agreed on a trip out (again!!) which took me by surprise so we popped to Ludlow. Nothing doing in the charity shops.
6) Where we live is now the biggest nature reserve, I half heard on the news. I'm not sure whether that is locally or in the country. They must have bought some more woodland.
7) I made shepherds pies for smaller son's tea with some more for the freezer. I made beanburgers (one for me, 3 for the freezer) but blended the top off my wooden spoon! Just a shaving. I couldn't find it in the mixture so it was either chopped into tiny bits or I've eaten it.
8) Went to the football this evening and won 3-0! This should cheer them before the FA cup match on Sunday. Now 3rd in the league...
9) In bed now with 2 hwb and a cup of tea.
10) Sons have been left some money by their auntie (father's side of the family). She had 2 sons, grandchildren, 5 nephews and a niece so sons are just 2 of very many great nephews and nieces. I think it might be £100 but I was touched that she had thought about them after so many years.
1. A work day finished. Lots of unhappy people. Two were in tears at some point of the day.
2. Ended up staying late as had long telephone consultation with someone that needed time . Pleased it was me that made the call rather than some others who wouldn't give the time.
3. Pizza from the freezer for tea. Not what was planned but all I could face cooking at 7.
4. Fixed the washing machine - water is now draining from it. Always helpful.
Not a good start as woke up in early hours with a bad head, painkillers and back to sleep until 9am.
Felt rough all day so a quiet one spent at home, small celebrations for Imbolc, Yule candles and cones packed away, replaced with white & green ones plus a daffodil wreath for the front door.
Broccoli soup and bread for lunch.
Chat with uncle, it was his 85th birthday.
Ooh and we booked a holiday, a week away to the Norfolk coast at the end of this month, looking forward to a change of scenery.
1. 2 February, so all things Joycean. So far today, R3 especially good. His birthday, 100 years since Ulysses' publication, his voice reading 'the meeting', his music and lyrics, his piano composition. Bronze singing medal, 1904. Marmite for many, & knows😁.
2. Up they keep coming.👏
3. Quite some sunset, voluptuous theatre, even for the Fens. Many people posting many stunning pics.
4. Yesterday's 40-mile housing visit for a.n.others in vain - no 12' wall to accommodate huge fish tank - but a different outlook for them and change of scene. Suddenly realised - was on old prison visiting roads, first time for 4 years.
5. Comforting late supper of smoked haddock in white sauce, done &'s nana's way, with a few sticks of overwintered parsley picked in the dark. Extra portion ce soir.😋 # Vl - I 'live' your home and garden relief, after your stressful days with so much hassle via colleagues, MISmanagement, some patients, site changes, deliberate organisation deafness. Your dedication is understood, but this cannot be what you envisaged or trained for. Take care. Frith - you did all the clearance after Aunty's death, too. Kind for your boys. # Much to do, so out soon to Far Connectivity Lands. Best days possible to all, posting and lurking.

Watched a few flix over the days, Dark Command with |John Wayne, Playing it Cool, Bob Einstein the Movie over the last few days! Wobbelades were taken, and fruit waters, with some crumpets, hot toasted and buttered with marmite! Very good for you!
Had stew and dumplings for dinner on SunDae, with a hand rubbed apple crumble served with pure lumpy custard! Very tasty! Pure butter crumble mix! Enuff left over for next weak as well!
Not times the Albatross on her attempt at my record yet this weak, though the roadwaorks inn town should hold her back!
Whether is fine this day on deck, so I has mopped up and cleared about. Kitty, gets a bit mardy if her treats and food are not down, but she has forsaken her dad! Treats will be coming soon for her!
Now sat withs me mug of tee, yes I has had mes selections of cereals already! Seal bar as well!
3) Spent over 2 hours cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom - all shelves, all white goods etc. Looks better for it.
4) Using up stuff left from the veg box delivery before the next one arrives. I made coleslaw for lunch then put peppers and spring onions in a chow mein for smaller son for tea. I had turnips with chicken!
5) In bed with 2 hwb and will watch television for a while.
Hello. My day improved from a very distressed start, I write to my husband ( which might sound daft as I know he doesn’t read it but I am a writer of words and it’s my way of expression) and I touched something this morning and almost five years worth of words just disappeared and I couldn’t work out how to get them back. Anyway my daughter on finding me very upset googled and sorted the problem for me and the words were back. And I read some of them to her so she cried too! A cheery pair we were!
Dog and I had an early squelchy walk so much overnight rain. And then I went a big walk all by myself. He just wants to sniff whilst I want to pick up a pace so my February challenge is to try and combine the two and take time out of my day to just walk myself ( which before would make me feel a bit guilty that I wasn’t taking him )
Walked the very long way to mums and did her bits and bobs. She’s not an early riser and it would suit me best to be there early rather than midway through the day so I just went in on way back from walk and did what was needed before she came downstairs. Again might do what suits me more.
Then walked home a couple of chatters along the way!
Then DD2 and I went up to local castle. She starts new job tomorrow ( honestly it’s like the night before first day of school at the moment!) so we won’t have same breakfasting opportunities. As always I love going there and love the views and the tranquility of location. Awash with snowdrops.
Home and quick doggy walk. Then had a lie down. Still a bit tired post Covid.
Then into town to find the free parking spots suggested for DD2 anew job. Walked into town from there to gauge timings, nice helpful chap at pharmacy and a quick nip into M&S bought my first bunch of daffodils of the new season.
Back to car and then showed her a shortcut out of where we were parked and then we went to Lidl . Got lots of things that were very RTC that are now squashed in the freezer! You will fiiiiit! The base of a fair few meals for coming month. Just need to get fresh veggies to go with them ( which I don’t like at lidl)
Home and hello doggy. We are home for the rest of the night.
Dinner was chicken pie ( RTC) and leftover corn on cob and peas.
