Holiday off work! Yay! So of course I wake up bright and early 😆 Swapped shelf units in my wardrobe for drawers that were in DD2. Was ruthless in my have I worn this? Does this fit? Nah? In the bag and dropped two big bags off at charity shop later.
Went into town with DD2, dropped charity bags off and went into bank and paid in a cheque (finally!)
Then we went for a very nice lunch.
Home and put up my Christmas tree. It’s a fresh one with a bit of a wonky look! Slightly leaning to the side but hey! And it’s up a bit earlier but I just thought well why not? And as usual all the emotions released whenever I open boxes of ornaments.
Bala - I didn't know your dad had died, so sorry for your loss.
DforV - yes, online.
pleasures for last few 1. hedgelaying - such fun.
about 40m laid in all 2. such nice people who join in and who said nice things about the cake i made 3. met up with friends in the pub (all bar one who had a face like a slapped a7$3 all evening, don't know why she came out) 4. no snow in Wales 5. a soak in the bath when the hedging was all done.
Bala, It sounds like you all did
your father proud. Big hugs.
1 I finished the glossing now to order the carpet, I also
talked myself into a stop point as when people buy a house the first thing they
sensibly do is re decorate while it’s empty. Actually, going to pick out carpet
tomorrow.
2 I’ve been gradually clearing again, this time old shoes,
old pair of boots I accidentally wore to the in-laws that have a broken sole, and
a pair of lethal crocs, I’ve just ordered a replacement pair at over half price,
only tip of the iceberg but it’s all progress.
3 On the clearing down lines not a lot in, entirely our own
fault as we cba to go out. So, from the freezer I sliced up hotdogs into a
pasta bake and used up bendy veg.
4 Among other things we inherited a tv from DF when he
passed, and we have tried hard for years to like it but it’s terrible, truly awful.
We finally trawled through all the models out there, it’s a smaller by today’s
standards but it’s for the bedroom, looking forward to picking it up, we’ve
managed to combine an offer and points.
1) hair cut from the lovely Lewis 2) one of those rustled up from the fridge lunches (lo pasta chick peas crime fraiche leek celery and curry powder) very yummy and enough for tomorrow lunch 3) dinner with work colleague 4) dd2 home yay says only for 2 nights but yay 5) gbf came round to pick her up from the stTion - he’s such a sweetie
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
Day of palaver. Errands of fools, several times over yesterday, but such is Life. Trekked to Trumpington emporium, only to learn that food collection had already been done by a.n.other, the very same a.n.other who had cried off because of 'car broken' and called for replacement. A n.other failed to let anyone know.....
1....but needless kindness from emporium meant a £5 gift card for &'s fuel and trouble, when the fault was entirely with a.n.other. Msgd A - how best to use it for food Hub? Tinned f and v., so & managed 10, dropped them off en long, windy route back.
2. More msgs and apologies from missed mtg person of last Wednesday. More kerfuffle, but trying to rearrange pre-crimbo. We will finally meet face2face for the first time!
3. Ingenuity must replace £s even more this year than last. Think this £2.50 combo, from The Works (A fave of &) and £land are great fun: (yes, will insert pic AFTER successfully posting osps. We know why, 🙂)
4. Two lucky CS finds en rte back, for one of &'s rugby fundraiser cakes for 11th or 18th home matches - a little clutch of navy plumes and 9 handsewn claret satin and velvet hearts. They can go round the outside. With a sparkly white candle+holder, all the club colours will be there.
5. Was so pleased to have a final serving of lovely beef casserole to enjoy, while kettle boiled for hwb... both perfect and comforting # Bala, how warmly we see your dad with you, in all you have ever posted. Certainly Tiggy, crows, blackbirds and foxes recognise it in you, too, and will celebrate your return, as can we. Make a path for Bala from now on - that's the worthy one.🤲😇 # Happy St Andrews Day to all North of the border - and a tincture.🥃 Single or blend, rocks, diluted etc ....yours to debate and enjoy.😋 # Waving to you, McCulloch👋. # Peacocks training tonight and this will surely be shown🦚🏉: https://fb.watch/9AnB-btC15/

A thick frost gave the world a pretty winter setting…..until you opened the door to go out and then bbbrrr.
Morning chores and made a loaf.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, good groom and tidied up her tail. Unfortunately my scissors were quite blunt from all that duct tape cutting and for a while it was looking a bit dodgy but managed in the end, she has such a lovely thick tail.
Home and an apricot & grey winters sunset.
Early to bed, rough night last with little sleep so nice to snuggle down.
We have cancelled out trip to New York - should be there now as we couldn't isolate for the pcr results. My boss has messaged me as to whether I knew about the need for self isolate and what were my plans. I responded I was aware and nothing else.
1. Voucher for full cost already received and used for rebooking trip in March nd with enough time to isolate for a couple of days.. The time was already booked off work.
2. Chat with my Mum on the phone and she invited us over on Friday.
All in Colour, is that Join the Dots Ms. &? Shelford. I went there once back in 2013! Under TILAMS I think! Our coach did a tour of Cambridge trying to find it! Rough Bed! Hare Cut! (Blue Rinse?) VJ that is a potato line? Wonky yule tee! Bala, I will change words for you as and when I do not feel like it!
Early Bird!
Had my sweet and sour prawns last night with fake saffron rice, done with termites! (Turmeric!!!!). Served with mushrooms and sliced peppers! Then had the raspberries and ice cream as well!
Film disaster last night, so ended up with bits. Cheese and fruit waters were taken!
Had the golden flakes of corn this morning in ice milk, tea and bits. Kitty had her fish dish and is snoozing it off on her pouffe!
The Albatross was sent off to see if she can beat my current land speed record to her work! AKA Lead Foot Sue, she will have another try tomorrow!
Now sat with my mug of tea, tad early for my root ginger chocolate covered biscuit, but I can assure it will be devoured later!
Thank you Amp, made me pause, your words have warmed me.
Thank you all. For your kind words and compassion. Sorry for disappearing, it was not because I wasn't interested, I just couldn't bring my feelings here as I was struggling.
Have a good warm day.....
