Sunday has been a fairly dry, bright day with some sunshine & a couple of light showers. DH has been busy decorating - 2nd coat of paint on feature wall, sanded + undercoat on skirting for same wall, painted one full wall & a third of the 4th wall. DSis is in a state of shock 😱 she got a call from a female doctor 👏 The doctor was on the phone for ages & DSis has to do various things including taking her medications separately to try & distinguish which one is causing which problem (3 of the 5 have been swapped 😖); picking up a request form for an x-ray + a pot for a stool sample; ordering & taking a Covid test (to make sure she can go for x-ray when she has a date); a chat with the pharmacist. Not sure if that is all but the NHS is back in my good books because of this extensive phone call on a Sunday 👏🙂 I cooked the brisket (which had been marinaded for 36 hrs) in the oven on a low temperature for 7.5 hrs basting regularly. More programmes cleared from the planner & continued with my ‘frog’ of transposing recipes. I will try to do some of this every day until done 🤞The brisket was melt in the mouth with mash, broccoli & carrots 🤤 (Forgot to mention that yesterday DSis vacuumed the whole of downstairs 👏)
vulpix, what a lovely way to remember your Grandma 🙂 I will unpack my suitcase now the lovely empty space is filled again 😉😔 Good luck with the big shed sort out tomorrow 🤞 You have been busy - prepping the tallboy + shopping for Christmas 👏 So very sorry to hear about your friend 😞 What a nasty disease Covid is ☹️
Great work TheMsTeale 👏 Hope you manage to sell the strimmer 🤞
2021 is certainly not your year EnergyShifter ☹️. A detached retina is frightening (my DH has had one 😧) but as you say our wonderful NHS has come through with flying colours 👏 Please do take great care of yourself however long it takes.
Lovely posts bit_by_bit & vulpix 👏

Hello all. Was on such a roll before we went away a few weeks ago but since we've been back, I've really lost my mojo! No decluttering happening although I do still have areas to do, and cleaning has also been pretty much non-existent. We've had a bit of a busy time last week and DH wasn't well over the weekend so I joined him on the sofa for a lot of it.
I have done about 95% of my Christmas shopping though, so not all lost, just need to order the last 2 bits for DH's gift. Then there just comes the hassle of wrapping it all 🤔
My parents are quite bad hoarders of things and don't like getting rid of stuff (wonder where I get it from...) so I've promised them that next year, DH and I will spend 1 weekend a month with them to help clear stuff out and eventually redecorate. Will definitely be keeping track of all the stuff that comes out of their house, it's definitely going to be more than 2022 things! They've both admitted that it's the time to sort stuff out as my mum has retired, my dad isn't far behind and they will probably be looking to downsize to a smaller place in the next 2 years anyway. Hate to say that I still have stuff of mine that's in the spare room, so I'll have some more things to get rid of (it's been 10 years since I moved out for the last time 😳)

ruby_eskimo, you are very kind and brave to offer up 12 weekends to declutter a hoarded house! Prepare your parents that it will get worse before it gets better, maybe even set every other hour you're there apart to clean spaces and get rid of items (actually out of the house). Can you set them a small daily task for the rest of the month? For instance, 10 minutes a day to empty and clean half a drawer? Their bedside cabinet? Go through their med collection and check expiry dates? Take a bagful of old paper to the recycling? Find projects that will accept old glasses, tools, etc? Don't take anything of theirs to your place! Good luck!

@EnergyShifter hope you feel better soon, sounds very traumatic @ruby_eskimo I have done similar to @Siebrie 's suggestions in the past - 15 minutes focus etc and really found it made a difference
I am definitely not focused at the moment and the decluttering is extremely haphazard, but is still happening at least
231 - DD dungarees sold and sent 232-3 - 2 x puzzles in the CS bag 234 - a game which was missing bits in the bin 235-8 - 4 almost empty pots of face powder. I keep tend to keep them when they get to the awkward bit at the end and then every now and then spend some time getting the powder out and amalgamating into one pot - so 5 into 1 while DD had her bath last night and a bit more clutter out of the bathroom.
Sorry to hear about your friend Vulpix. I hope he pulls through.
I am helping my sister dehoard @ruby_eskimo. I have been packing up her flat slowly over the the last 6 months, though I missed last month. Its hard work but rewarding as space clears. She lives a 3.5 hour drive away so its always two or three days out including recovery time and driving.
So good news: All the stuff I picked up on Friday has been sorted and delivered to the CS or put aside for various people. I am not counting them as they were only in the house for a few hours. I am going to report 4 bags of my own also to the CS today after clearing some more in my current room of doom.
Now I am up to 118 bags with plenty more to go.

Unexpected childcare today as small one has the cough and cold - tested negative for Covid but he is asthmatic so cough is always a concern. Monday has been a darkish, damp day ☹️ Not such a good day for the NHS today ☹️ DSis had a couple of chats with the surgery pharmacist & the manufacturing company of one of her medications - DSis got contact number for the pharmacist to contact. Not really sure if anything will change but I think it is an awful cheek to get patients to phone drug companies 😖 DH has done some more of the decorating - glossed the undercoat day skirting & put a second coat on third wall. I have continued with the recipe transposition frog 😉 DH & I finished the hm soup for lunch. Dinner was the remainder of the brisket with mash & the last of the carrots & broccoli 🙂🤤 Wudupa.

Good decluttering TC77 👏 I know it might seem odd but have you checked fridge/freezer for the old phones - you might have been trying to revive them 😉
Nice to see you ruby_eskimo 👋 and now that you have popped in we can send ‘mojo vibes’ through the ether 😉 Hope DH is feeling better 🤞I think you may have directed all your mojo into sorting out Christmas presents 👏 Agree with Siebrie very kind & very brave to offer 12 weekends to declutter your parents home 👏😇 However I would say that your parents have both taken the first step by admitting that they do need to declutter 👏
What an excellent post Siebrie full of great ideas to get ruby_eskimo’s parents into the ‘Decluttering Mindset’ 👏 and also a reminder to us all that small decluttering tasks bring us all closer to a Clutter Free home 🙂👏
Excellent work Finstickle - especially the 5 into 1 👏
bit_by_bit, Love the word “dehoard” Perhaps I should think that I am decluttering someone else’s home 🤔 I always work harder than I do for my own home 🙄 Excellent work on your sister’s behalf 👏 & also excellent decluttering in your home 👏 It sounds like your Room of Doom is emptying nicely 🙂👏
Great work short_bird 👏 Good luck with selling 👏 I hope you have a wonderful weekend at the opera 🙂 Can I be nosy & ask what you are seeing?
Great work GrannyKate 👏 I hope both you & small one recover quickly 🤞I will take a couple of hugs 🤗 & sending a few back your way 🙂

HI, some great work going on here and even if not as much as people would like ,people are still posting which is a positive.
Today didn't pan out quite as planned. It has rained all day so not conducive to emptying he shed. We went shopping for knobs for the drawers and I also treated myself to some vacuum storage bags. Not tried them yet. Also picked up some Christmas chocolate to add to my Mums gift.
I have had a cull of pictures and mirror in our bedroom. I realised that I had just put pictures on nails that were already there. It didn't need it. It does need a throw though on the bed. I have had a rejig in the sitting room yet again. I will get it right eventually.
A few things left the house due to washing up, draining board jenga. Also found an injured firefighters fund collection bin in local pub car park. A couple of things that were in the car posted there.
