Right, finally got round to reconciling YNAB and sorting banks.
August premium bonds winnings arrived, so I've transferred those to the kitchen fund - now standing at £3026.24. All good.
Nothing much else to report. Spending far too much on cafes (but that's our only fun spending really - no pubs, holidays or anything else so I'm not changing it any time soon).
Just requesting the dosh for both the kitchen deposit and the £1000 car bills from the premium bonds account. As usual, the age old question - they automatically remove the oldest bonds, which means the ones I've had since I was a kid, and which have won nothing in 41 years. Do I just cash those in (which is easy, and takes 3 days) or do I mess about with the form, which takes 8 days??
Not sure why I'm attached to those bonds in particular - they've never won anything, I don't even know who bought them, and until a few years ago didn't even know they existed I think that might be my answer...
Ok, bonds cashed in - I've taken out the oldest ones, which is a much easier process, and will make it easier as I'm going to have to withdraw quite a few over the next few months to pay for the kitchen.
Speaking of kitchen (and builders) - we're off to take down the bedroom ceiling. Wish us luck!

That's quite ambitious for a Friday afternoon - do you have somewhere else to sleep?
2014 starting mortgage £165,000
2015 second charge £20,000 - Jan 2021 paid off in full
Ha, yes - this is what will be our future bedroom 😁 Current bedroom fortunately still intact!
Managed half of it, then had to stop to give Bessie her medicine (which of course she wouldn't eat - although Rusty was quite keen, having refused point blank to take her own a couple of weeks ago 🙄 )
Have now stopped that to come to a legs, bums and tums class at the gym 😂 thought they'd stopped doing them in the 1990s but apparently not 😂
Class done (far too many arm weights for me - I've done a lot of things with ceilings lately!)
Bessie has had some more medicine 🙄 We're going to attempt to shove the tablet straight down her throat tomorrow 🙄 We're meant to be leaving at 9am to visit some friends...
Gosh I HATE giving medicine to chickens. It looks so easy when the vet does it, and it's just ridiculous when we try 🙄
Anyway. Today's accomplishments:
* Bessie has had most of her medicine * We've removed half of the bedroom ceiling * Visited a carpet shop - reasonable idea of what we want but the shop seemed expensive, and annoyingly had no proces on anything so it was impossible to browse. Very annoying. * exercise class * YNAB and banks * Refund from the AA
Sat - Birmingham to visit friends Sun - other friends coming here and camping overnight Mon - we're leaving 9am to visit Mr Cheery's family Tues - Mr Cheery away all day at dentist and band rehearsal Wed - currently free Thurs - currently free Fri - currently free Sat - currently free Sun - visiting friends Mon - back to work, builders arriving 8.30am, vets in the afternoon 😮
OK, so that's basically FOUR DAYS before the builders get here. And before then we have to...
* remove rest of bedroom ceiling * second coat rest of kitchen ceiling * sort out kitchen floor * contact building regs guy (this project itself doesn't need building regs sign off, but the last one did, and the one final thing that needed doing was a mains smoke alarm, which we'll FINALLY get done now the electrics are being sorted) * clear everything out of kitchen and offshot so builders have free access * buy new kettle to leave for them (and biscuits!) * figure out where I'm going to work while they're here
And other stuff that could do with doing * find and order fridge * find and order oven and hob * decide what to do about dining room floor (and order flooring)
Urgh. There are actually loads of other things but my notebook is somewhere else and there's no point me writing it all down again anyway.
I'm very glad that Mr Cheery had a good birthday, and that Bessie 's v e t visit went reasonably well. Good luck with medicating her - it's not something I would want to do, they always look so fragile.
It's not difficult! 'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner. 'Wonder' - to feel curious.

Do they do step aerobics as well 🤔🤣?

No step aerobics I do think, but I am on the waiting list for aqua aerobics next week 😁
I'd rather not be medicating chickens either hb 🙄 it's about as much fun as medicating cats, but I am SO paranoid about hurting them. We've tried various ways but just can't get the hang of shoving things down their throat - they obviously hate it, and unhelpfully their airway hole is situated right in the middle of their tongue, and they have no gag reflex, so if you do it wrong you can drown them 🙄
Not with a tablet obviously, but I'm still pretty paranoid, and am attempting disguising it in food again this morning... food all prepared, just need to get the chicken and keep the others in as we're meant to be leaving in 23 minutes 😂😂😂
