I'm hoping someone can advise on a thermal long-sleeved top. I received a gift of a long-sleeved top from Sainsbury's Tu range (size 18) and I'd like another but- they don't do them any more. The cream fabric- 61% acrylic 37%viscose 2% elastene - is a lovely warm fleecy feel inside and very lightweight - I wear it as pyjamas and the last few days as an extra layer. Can you good ladies suggest anything similar please? tia.
Thank you Pip, I will check Damart. No ski shops locally, sadly.
This one's a 20, but if it's the same then I would snap it up quickly! And no coupons if it is bought from a middleman-seller! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/womens-ladies-top-size-20-Tu-cream-thermal-NEW/353347952702?hash=item52452de03e:g:Tq8AAOSwbYpf-fOT
Interesting chat about shoes and feet earlier. I was watching QI last night and they talked about a Mexican tribe of endurance runners, who run in sandals between their widely dispersed villages. I don’t remember the name of the race but one of their women beat 54 professional ultramarathon runners, while dressed for popping to the shops. There is a “barefoot running” movement, which argues that our feet are built as shock absorbers for our joints, so are best served by not wearing shoes for running. There are even “barefoot running” trainers which look like toed socks with a hardened sole. One of the basses at choir wears them. You can feel everything but you won’t get your feet dirty.- Pip
Mark’s and Uniqlo both do nice thermal tops but a few years back I got a silk thermal top. It is beautifully light and warm and it has lasted 10 winters and is still showing very little wear. I worry a bit about microfibres from artificial thermal fabrics but having said that, I bought a Guppyfriend washing bag which is supposed to trap them. But I have never seen any lint inside it after a lot of use. I wonder if the fabrics they used in the test which supposedly showed fibres being shed, were cheap and flimsy or if I keep and wear my clothes so long they have all stopped shedding
