My wife is after some wireless earbuds and has spotted these. Thought process seems to be she has a Galaxy phone and these are Galaxy buds, what better combo.

I prefer to see whether what i'm looking at is overpriced and if there's anything better. So since she's in the £100 and under market I was wondering if there's anything better.
Hop on 'best wireless earbuds under £100' lists and the Samsung buds don't get a mention. What does however are brands i've never heard of in my life. When you click through their links, user reviews on the Amazon site you're taken to are like 3/5 which don't sound so great to me.

So i then check reviews on the Galaxy Buds+ themselves and users seem to love them. 4/5. 4.5/5.
I saw a WhatHifi review on the Galaxy Buds+ and well it lost me. It's obviously for audiophiles with its use of jargon terminology. It's like listening to wine wafflers and coffee addicts, where when you come to taste whatever they've reviewed you can only assume they had taken some substance beforehand because you're tasting absolutely none of what they said.

So in plain English, are the Samsung buds+ a decent set of earbuds? Is the sound quality good? Is the bass good without being overkill? There's not a tinny sound? Do they FEEL like good quality? I ask this as i bought an expensive set of buds and also a dirt cheap set off alliexpress. The cheap set certainly felt cheap. They were very very lightweight, the case was very very lightweight and felt like bargain basement plastic. They just didn't feel good in the ear whereas the dearer set were very comfortable. There's a reason she's not getting that brand which is another story and this post is long enough.

And on another note, is there a massively better set of wireless earbuds for £100 & under? If so then in what way are they better?

No idea about the galaxy bugs, or any of the ridiculously priced ones - I bought a set of these in the summer and couldn't be happier. Decent sound, comfortable fit, nice little charging case, good life. I use them almost daily while walking the dogs and haven't had any issues yet.

as a bonus, looks like there's a newer model that's even cheaper:

I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and was also considering a set of Galaxy earbuds but as they were expensive, I decided to buy a cheaper (but not rubbish) set and see how they performed  - if they were rubbish then I would stump up for the more expensive Samsung buds.
I got these on a deal earlier this year and they have performed superb so I have kept them and put the money I was going to spend towards a Samsung smartwatch instead.

My personal opinion for the above. I like the fact they pair immediately to my Samsung as soon as I flip open the case.
I can use either earbud on its own (I run with only one in so I can hear whats around me). I also use them to listen to Spotify and Netflix and although I tend to keep the volume down a bit more nowadays, I have absolutely no complaints about the quality. They are earbud style so there is a bit that fits in the ear and to me that is more comfortable. hope this helps

There's a newer version of the MPOW buds ...currently on a deal (today only?) at £31.44: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B086XFYFCW/

    Thanks.

    She's opted for this one.
I'm wondering if there's a bit of dirty trickery going on by Amazon or MPOW. As you said - there was a countdown on the item. We're past that now yet the price remains £31.44.
She decided based on the huge numbers of positive feedback on them and the price (and seemingly deadline for that price).

All these wireless earbuds and their cases look pretty similar to a degree. The expensive set i bought were cre8 ones that had to be imported. They felt like a substantial unit. The sound quality was superb (but the battery time was poor).

I ordered a set off alliexpress which look pretty similar to these MPOW ones. They felt extremely lightweight - and i don't mean that in a good way. The buds and case felt like they were made of the cheapest of cheap plastics. Any corner that could be cut seemed like it had been cut. The buds themselves were quite poor. Everything about them. The feel, the sound, the case, everything. I wasn't expecting miracles off Alliexpress so i wasn't majorly disappointed.

Hope these ones are up to par.

For me the countdown has stopped and they are now at £39.99, down from £49.99. Strange that they were £31.44 down from £59.99 earlier. ;)

PS - I don't have wireless buds of any sort, so I wasn't recommending them. Just highlighting that the model mentioned earlier had an updated version.

Certainly some sort of price trickery going on.

Yes i'm now seeing that same price change. Weird.

It's got huge feedback numbers. I also looked at responses to it outside of Amazon and they were very complimentary. She decided to go with it based on all that. We shall see.

I've often thought that the wine wafflers or coffee addicts were on something too :D (other than wine/coffee)
I've recently purchased some Jabra elite active 75t's anyway(£150), and was blown away by the quality of them when listening to 8d audio with the noise cancellation on. I won't go on about the description of such at the risk of sounding like a wine waffler, but I mentioned it to 3 friends who were using samsung buds, Mifo 05 and original airpods and to my surprise none of them were impressed with theirs when listening to same 8d music... i've since tried out personally their samsung buds and airpods and the qualify is woeful compared to my Jabras, now I understand why they weren't as impressed.
I think Jabra do a cheaper version of mine, the "non active" 75t for £130

    These ones?
Sounds like a serious bit of kit.

I personally can't stand the apple airpods. Big walking sticks hanging from your ear to your feet. They look terrible. The new ones can sound as good as they want, maybe they do, maybe they don't, but that design is awful.

Anyway, may be a shout for myself that if i need to get any (mine are working for now). The wifes earbuds arrived today via Amazon Prime. On first test she seems happy enough with them.
