Note of Debt Recovery Unpaid Parking Charge of £170

Received a letter this week from dcbl, Note of Debt Recovery Unpaid Parking Charge of £170.
Start you have an unpaid charge and Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited (DCBL) have been instructed to collect the outstanding balance on behalf of our client.
Provides a case number, date of letter, Date of Contravention:27/6/19, Location etc.

Concerned I am then on a Bad Credit list , states "as see on TV we will take it away " I was advised at time of breach and I wrote to them to challenge but have no record of any reply and now it has escalated to this.

Chances are it's a debt collector letter and could be ignored

Forget about the TV programmes , those were high court writs after court cases in those , for over £600

Redact personal details in the letter and upload a picture of it

Which PPC issued the PCN ?? Was it Bank ? Or PPL ? Or who. ??

Private Parking ticket? check the 2 sticky threads by coupon-mad and crabman in the Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking Board forum for the latest advice or maybe try pepipoo or C.A.G. or legal beagles forums if you need legal advice as well because this parking forum is not about debt collectors or legal matters per se

DCBL Recovery are just debt letter writers.  The fact they carry the ''Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away'' logo is misleading because these are not the bailiff 'arm' of the company.  You are not on any blacklist, impossible if a parking case hasn't gone to court.

You haven't read the NEWBIES thread yet have you (NO LINK GIVEN). And no other DCBL threads? Haha, read some!

You do not need to pay or take legal advice, calm down and read the forum.  That is not to say you won't get a court claim (AND YOU MUST DEFEND IT) but you haven't read enough yet if you don't know why that is the stage where you win.

    Which parking firm?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top of this/any page where it says:

    Which parking firm? 🥱
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You REALLY  need  to read the newbies.  This is  self  help forum and you are expected to help yourself.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, sometimes it can lead to cancellation.,

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers. On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and hopefully this will become law shortly

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
