    Haha, yes that’s right.  I was passing through and took a picture to send to OH, as he is a Brixton boy.  He doesn’t recognise it now the hipsters have taken over.

    Brixton has been made over, but it is progress as I do believe that Brixton market, high street and Windrush square may not have survived without development and monetary investment in Brixton.

    True.  But it also means that many local people don’t get a look in. I think it’s a real shame that people are being driven out of their communities because housing costs have shot up. This isn’t just Brixton, it’s all over the country.  Many of my peers have had to move away from family, to live in cheaper parts of the country and this means that their parents can’t help with childcare, where they may otherwise would have done.  It also means that they in turn can’t help their parents when they get older.

    Yes Chanie, but the other side of lack of investment and development right across the UK is that there are areas that are now so deprived, that they are like ghost towns. People on Benefits are always being forcibly relocated outside of London as the social housing situation in London is so dire.
