I’ve looked out of the windows, and while next door have lost the fence panel that was damaged in the last storm everything else looks ok. I’m expecting the odd slate to be on the ground as a number of them have slipped (ironically where I had the lead redone 5 years ago).
I took the tv aerial and satellite dish off (and all the associated wiring) as I don’t use them, so one less thing to cause problems!
Actually we have 2 flying saucers on the wall, not ours, they came with the house. Really probably should take those down at some point. Will stick it on a list. I sold my really really long ladders when we lived in Sheffield, as the only secure place they would fit was the very thin hall if you kept the living room door open a bit. If they would have fit behind the sofa in the living room, then I would have kept them, but they were longer than the width of the room. They were so handy, but a nightmare to store. I miss my ladders - yeah, I know, its weird.

Oooh I am enjoying storm watch It is bright and sunny here, but a bit windy and there are a couple of broken branches here and there but otherwise all is looking good here - fingers crossed it doesn't get worse. I can only assume it's much worse down south than here because we've definitely not had a storm that I haven't seen in 7 years. It was as bad as this in December...

We've got our neighbours' arial waving at us from across the road! Will see if it falls down entirely. Funnily enough, there are also 2 satellite dishes on our wall, which also came with the house (and we're in a conservation area, so not entirely sure how they got away with that one), so it all sounds eerily familiar. Hope you're holding up alright!

Julicorn! I did not know you knew I was here. Well there you go. Small world on MSE.
******* Storm Watch Update *******
One big tree down in the grounds of the college at the top of the road. 2pm exactly the heavens opened ,the rain was horizontal, it was like heavy fog. You could not see the houses on the other side of the road. The road was a flowing river (we live at the top of the hill so it all goes downhill from here) All that was missing was Werewolves and dolphins. Proper apocalyptic !!!!!! is going on? weather. Lasted 5 minutes, looks like it might be clearing up.
Suddenly there are a lot of cars on the main road, I think people have decided to risk it quickly in case it comes back.

So, I cut the smallest 2 boys' hair, totally forgot what I was doing when I started, so forgot to put the measuring guard on the trimmer, so DS4s hair is 1mm shorter than it would have been. Oops. Give him 2 days and it will not be stubble. - he has the sides of his head shaved and long on top, so I stuck it in a plait and he is delighted and dancing around the place like a nutter. His teaching assistant sent him home with it in a french plait last week (get off my child!!) but he did not know it would fit in a normal plait. Who is he hurting? nobody. Let the kid have a plait if he wants to. His brother just had a 4 on the sides and a 6 on top, spot of gel in the morning, job done (and £20 stays in my purse).
Baked for lunchboxes, completely forgot I have one in a nut free school, so the bakewell tart is no good for lunchboxes, the gingerbread cake can go in instead, and they decimated the golden syrup sponge and custard they had after their toad in the hole, roast root veg, boiled potatoes, peas, corn and gravy for lunch. They are eating machines. They will only need a sandwich at suppertime, or a simple pasta dish (I will have a shake). Anyway, after haircut was a dunk in the bath, to remove the stray hairs and shut them up (it itcheeeessssss! wah!) so 2 out of 4 bathed today already. Only 5 school days until half term. Lunchboxes thought about, all laundry done, kitchen is not a bombsite. I will call that a win.

Today I am doing nothing. Just not feeling it today. Did the school run, all to school on time, can't be faffed to tidy around the kids rooms (did turn off ALL their lights though), popped down the road to the Tofu shop, wandered into the hospice shop, I need 3 double bed frames -I have tried buying them divans from 4rgos and they trashed them within 12 months. I bought DS4 a metal bed last year and he has trashed it already.
My divan bed is still going strong after 12years, but they are squeaky . So will need a kingsize for me too.So it is looking like £40 each for new-to-us wooden bedframes x 3 and the kids will be sorted, and I will be able to spend a bit more on nice mattresses for them. One to sort over the half term. The only thing is, am I encouraging them to spend even MORE time in their beds? They only get out of them for food. They only get dressed for mealtimes !
So today I am not hoovering, I am not tidying, I have no idea what I am doing, except I had a nice bath and washed my hair, and scrubbed the plimsole line off the bathtub (rotten children). Had soup for lunch, shake for breakfast, will probably have another shake for tea tonight. It is getting quite windy outside - still have not contacted the aerial fairy.
Might do that later, I have a 7pm appointment at parents' evening for DS4. I do not like his teacher. He is content to let him slide as he is clever. What he is doing, is letting him be lazy. cos if you don't set homework, or craft activities related to the topic, you don't have to mark them. Lazy teacher = lazy kids. Creative teacher = creative kids. They might learn the same facts, but one of them promotes a mindset that ' it will do' and the other that learning is fun. He annoys me, and seems to often be off sick as well. The teaching assistant is no better. Good job there is only another 5 months of him. I am not looking forward to tonight - can you tell?
I have not lost any weight yet this week, stayed the same for the last 3 days, but I am closer to being able to do up my coat! So a non-scale win.

Well, Mr A's shopping emporium is going to help my shopping bill, which has been creeping upwards due to fussy kids and what goes in their lunchboxes (only 2 will eat a sandwich, sometimes only 1) but instead of the £1 pasty from Mr M's 3 have been having, they have announced the 4 sausage rolls for £1.15 are delicious, and the 2 (not) beef pasties for £1.20ish are a perfectly acceptable swap. So all I have to do is put them in the oven when I get up in the morning, and then let them cool and lunchboxes have just at least halved in cost. Right, now that is all sorted, I need to clean the kitchen a bit before making the kids their tea.
