Illiquid SIPP advice

My father passed away in Sep 2018 and as administratior of his estate I have discovered a SIPP that was arranged by Portafina in 2000 with investments through Curtis Banks which I have discovered are illiquid. From doing some amateur research I believe my father may have been mis-sold the SIPP, I have a letter from Portafina basically apologising that the SIPP had not performed and that they would protect his retirement income. I have a telephone appointment booked next week with an adviser from Portafina and my question is what can I expect from them in regards of settlement? Would it just be the original amount invested or an amount including interest? I am hoping to arm myself with some info before speaking to them as they have already tried to fob me off by telling me that I need to deal with Curtis Banks. Thank you for your time.
