Money Savers Arms

Last ooorders!… We’re sorry but for now, due to resources, we need to close the Money Savers Arms including Discussion Time.

It’s not easy to write this. We love the forum, but we also have a job to do to protect it, our users and MoneySavingExpert, and at the moment, with all our resources focused on Coronavirus information, and all the team at home, we don’t feel we have the resources to do a good enough job.

For four months, we’ve been struggling to cope with the huge volumes of messages we’ve been getting from Forumites – many of whom are in desperate and dire straits with their finances. The team have been working all hours to try and keep on top of it. At first we thought it’d be a short sharp spike, but it isn’t, it’s continuing, so we have had some difficult choices to make about prioritisation.

Unfortunately in, and likely because of, these stressful times, the Forum team have also been receiving an increasing number of complaints about posts made on the Money Savers Arms and Discussion Time. The team have done what they can to try and walk the tightrope of balancing all the various interests, but for now we need to draw a line under this and temporarily close this Board, so we can keep the key, MoneySaving boards – where people are supporting each other through this crisis - running smoothly.

We know this board is important to you, but as the MSE stance has been forbearance throughout this crisis, now we ask that of you. We’re sorry. Of course you can post on other boards, but we’d ask you to stick to the subjects of those boards, and not use them as a surrogate Money Savers Arms or Discussion Time. And as always please be kind and friendly to each other, especially any newbies.

Thanks
MSE Forum Team

Poundland self-service tills. Even more annoying than most as some bright spark decided to program them to give you instructions in Yoda's voice!

Buy cheap biscuits for office elsewhere I must. Or scream I will...

And you respond with, jeff off you will.

    Post removed for "masked swearing."

As in using a 1 instead of an i in a four letter word for excrement, and putting an e on the end.
All those using !!!!!!, or whatever, wonder if they'll be reported as well?

On a more positive note, the use of the word knob apparently still appears to be ok.
    For now, anyway.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If it's used in anger does it tell? eg. Elsien you are a knob?

One of the DT discussion time can dish it out but can't take it brigade is my guess. I wouldn't use the same language anywhere else on here but I was stupidly assuming DT would be more robust.

Never used it on here in that context, but I suspect that would definitely cross a line.
And having read that, I may now feel a flounce coming on. :D

Shampoo and shower gel combined “for men”. Doesn’t seem to be any equivalent for women.

I don’t care, I am going to use it anyway. It smells quite nice and was reduced to 75p (that’s the important bit :rotfl: ).

I will let you know if I grow a beard, or anything else I didn’t have before!
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

What brand is this, i’ve never seen a shower gel that says its for anything other than face and body. I use pantene 2 in 1 and dove for men shower gel. Also i find nivea for men shaving gel is the best.

Superdry Sport shower gel is for hair and body. It’s in special offer in Boots right now for £2.63.

We use the green one and it’s really nice and a strong scent and a very thick quality gel so you only need a tiny amount and it doesn’t make your hair feel like straw. Great for the gym even though it’s a blokes toiletry I like it.

This one is Palmolive Sport, with grapefruit and mint oils. It’s actually 3-in-1... body, hair and face. I used it this morning and it’s really nice, not too masculine at all. I still used a bit of hair conditioner afterwards but can recommend it for ladies as well as men.
