Money Savers Arms

Last ooorders!… We’re sorry but for now, due to resources, we need to close the Money Savers Arms including Discussion Time.

It’s not easy to write this. We love the forum, but we also have a job to do to protect it, our users and MoneySavingExpert, and at the moment, with all our resources focused on Coronavirus information, and all the team at home, we don’t feel we have the resources to do a good enough job.

For four months, we’ve been struggling to cope with the huge volumes of messages we’ve been getting from Forumites – many of whom are in desperate and dire straits with their finances. The team have been working all hours to try and keep on top of it. At first we thought it’d be a short sharp spike, but it isn’t, it’s continuing, so we have had some difficult choices to make about prioritisation.

Unfortunately in, and likely because of, these stressful times, the Forum team have also been receiving an increasing number of complaints about posts made on the Money Savers Arms and Discussion Time. The team have done what they can to try and walk the tightrope of balancing all the various interests, but for now we need to draw a line under this and temporarily close this Board, so we can keep the key, MoneySaving boards – where people are supporting each other through this crisis - running smoothly.

We know this board is important to you, but as the MSE stance has been forbearance throughout this crisis, now we ask that of you. We’re sorry. Of course you can post on other boards, but we’d ask you to stick to the subjects of those boards, and not use them as a surrogate Money Savers Arms or Discussion Time. And as always please be kind and friendly to each other, especially any newbies.

Thanks
MSE Forum Team

I think the cat carving over the gateway was Canterbury cathedral, but I can't find a pic.

Re. The liquorice dress...... I can't find it either. Found a couple in Germany, but it wasn't the right one.

I know I posted it on one of the threads here, but it would have been 2or 3 years ago, I think, and God knows what thread it was on.

Edit......I did find a post I made two years ago, but it didn't have the dress I'd seen before, which was made of sheets of liquorice, so I posted one which was just roundels of liquorice stuck onto fabric.....not the same thing.

Oh well...you'll just have to take my word for it!
    Perhaps it melted?

Maybe "scrambled eggs on toast" is code for.......... something?

So Wetherspoons has become 'Weatherspoons' huh? Why not 'Whetherspoons' :rotfl: ...

Please do not ask if I put sauce on my veggie sausage toastie!

I haven't been propositioned again (phew)! Although one elderly chap that I chat to and overheard last week, asked me today whether or not I'd had another offer! His female companion (don't think that they're "together"), asked me if I had told Mme. Of course I did ....hmmmph! Invited me to "go upstairs with her" or something along those lines she did. And touched my bottom ..... I reckon that's quite enough information.

    Another experience from Wetherspoons ...
I went there with Mme. and left her alone at the table while I went to order food and collect drinks. Anyway, I returned with the drinks to find a rather sleazy (If you'll excuse the pun) male, circling round and round her table in ever decreasing circles, sniffing the air like some primordial beast. I have previously warned her about her [STRIKE]pheromones[/STRIKE] perfumes.

Another time I'll tell you another true story ...

    Good evening all.

Bit quiet on the forum today, suspect it may be the oppressive heat and humidity.
I have no energy for anything and am looking forward to a cool shower later and the coolness of the morning ....

Bobby caught a mouse this morning whilst I was out and Mme. blocked him from bringing it inside, whereupon he devoured it outside...nothing left. My own view is "better inside him than inside the house". I quite like the idea that he catches stuff - indicates to me that he is behaving as expected for a predator and isn't too stressed apart from the heat.

    Hmmm.

Whether it be Weather- or Wether-spoons or Leatherrunes, or Tethertoons or Heathergoons is neither hither nor thither............. it's now quite apparently transparent that said establishment is a den of iniquity!
