Just done Martin's first step in home insurance renewal: got a personalised quote from Churchill for £160, their premium cover. My renewal from Admiral, due in a few days, was £246. Guess which one I'm taking up

ETA - thank the stars, for the first time ever I found an instant SB survey, its taken me over my goal, and so I've reached my 14 day goal, which has a fair effect bonus wise. Woo hoo

now to scale it back, pronto.

My insurance was always really expensive because I had clients come to my house - when an insurance company *does* cover it, it adds a *lot* of money to the premium. I managed to get that taken off last year, so it's been yoyo-ing:
2018: £246 (prospective)
2017: £204
2016: £264.

They can whistle for it :j

SB have made it easy not to focus on them any more, they put my daily goal up to 60, ha.

I did manage to chop back yet more brambles yesterday, they're really getting leafy now, so I'm just in time

and I was actually looking on Amazon for perennial veg to plant :beer: not much there yet.

Paid credit cards.

Checked French rent money has arrived, it has, but I'll still need to put money in next month. In the UK tax year 2016-17, I sent £6000 that way

So todo today:
- finish "Dividends and Tax" for HMRC.
- pay for new insurance.
- couple of birthday cards to be sent.
- couple of keepie-uppie phone calls to be made.

Insurance is done (starts tomorrow! Oops). Tried to go direct, but they charged me £50 more, no record of previous quote, so started again with Martin's page, then moneysupermarket, and bingo, £160. Should get Nectar points too, on my cc

YouGov survey done.

16 SB earned - the apps have shut down completely, for some reason. My phoneline is unhappy

I do think that next renewal I need to go cable, I think it's arrived now.

All good, and even the washing machine's been on - don't hold out much hope for line drying today, but it all helps :rotfl:

Fail
- couple of keepie-uppie phone calls to be made. Nope. After spending so long on the phone struggling with various idiotic company policies, I just couldn't speak properly!

Achievements today (some from above too

):

- paid credit cards.

- checked French rent money has arrived, it has, but I'll still need to put money in next month. In the UK tax year 2016-17, I sent £6000 that way

- paid for new insurance.

- couple of birthday cards sent.

- went a walk :j

- accidentally reached the SB goal, which had been increased by a third, to 60 points, they're giving away lots of mini bonuses.

- towels practically dry after being on the line :j

- dishwasher's on.

Life is good :cool:
