  • Hi Guys,

How long did it take for people to receive statement of accounts from Wonga? I have already received QQ and Sunny and sent off my complaint but still not received an email from Wonga and its been nearly 10 days? Should I send the request again?

    Cheers

    Hi,
They took over 2 weeks to send me mine so I just took some time and went through all my bank statements, wrote down how much was borrowed and repaid and then sent my complaint to the FOS after Wonga took 8 weeks for a response and then asked for an additional 6 weeks.

Hey all! Started my journey with this late last night. I emailed 6 pay day loan companies and have had responses back from 2 already. They are peachy and lending stream. Peachy emailed me the statement to which I have replied and they have replied back. 8 week counter now set!
However, lending stream called for my ID verification then emailed to say I need to send a letter + £10 to get hold of the information required. Anyone had this? Should I or is there another way around it?
Thanks guys and best of luck to you all!

Is this just for chasing payments or can you chase up an ongoing complaint that is with the FOS?

It is the email address that the FOS will be emailing on a daily basis. If you email this address prior to the FOS making a decision it will probably just annoy QQ and your adjudicator who will still be working on the case. Best to reserve it for when they rule in your favour and you are chasing payment.

    Hi Maverick,

It depends on the info you have. If you have all your bank statements from the period you had the loans then you can total up the amounts you borrowed and repaid to give you an idea of what you think you are owed. I had that response from a few lenders but I just replied stating I was able to pick up what I needed from my bank statements and sent my complaint in straight away. It can take weeks to even get a statement from these people.

The sooner you start the ball rolling the better!
  • Hi

Thanks everyone. The only concern I have got is I haven't got my statements to confirm exactly how many loans I took as I can only go off emails and credit report. The information isn't exactly the same so not sure. How do I get hold of statements as H*lifax are part of my DMP and have technically closed my account so I don't have access online any more. Any ideas would be great? :) I want to make sure this complaint is right as I have paid a lot of interest on this account and my husbands wonga

    cheers

  • Well, I have had a final response from Payday Express this morning and it makes quite interesting reading.

They started out by saying that I applied in March 2011 and they carried out their checks. Ok so far. Then they told me of a £200 loan I had on 6 December 2012 due for repayment of £258 on 21 December 2012 (not true). And on 21 December they took £500 from my account to pay the said loan (again, not true). A couple of other things were completely wrong too before they correctly detailed what had happened and went on to say they are essentially perfect and weren't upholding my complaint!

Quite a strongly worded email went back to them asking why they had either made things up or, even worse, detailed somebody else's account history in an email to me. I wonder what the FOS will make of this one...

I have a complaint in with Payday UK too so I wonder if they are bothering to look at that one properly considering they are sister companies.
