Hi there mumps, the tenant moved in on 4th February and seems to be ok, we haven't met him. I did have a quick look at the apartment last time I went to Aldi and he has put up some brand new vertical blinds, so he must be hoping to stay.

    More importantly, how are you?

The blinds are a good sign, nice settled tenant just what you need.

I am doing OK, came home from hospital on Friday bit sore but generally doing well. Had a bit of a dip but decided I needed to smarten myself up so coloured my hair last night and had a new style today, I just told the hairdresser to do what she thought was best and it looks really nice. I think it gives you a boost if your hair looks good. I have an appointment with specialist nurse on Friday an hospital again next week. It all takes a bit of getting used to but I am so lucky that I went quickly and doctor took it seriously so outlook is positive.

I also went to the library while I was out so have a stack of books to get through, keep me out of trouble. It is a lovely day here and its not raining which is a very positive thing. Have you been to your new place in Snowdonia yet? We are thinking of a break in Pembroke when I am a bit better, haven't been for years but always loved it so will be a bit of a morale booster.

No, the site is not open until March 1st, but we are going then for a couple of days. Enjoy Pembrokeshire, I love it as much as North Wales, especially around Tenby, although it is very different.

Please keep me updated about your heath matters.

    Hi

    Thanks for this thread.
I have enjoyed following this through from the start (even though I have stayed silent)

I think I took a keener interest in this when I realised you were based in Wolves because I work very close to where you were and very often visit the Aldi next to the apartment you purchased.

I am at the age - 55 - where I am thinking of planning more towards my retirement but its difficult to make too many decisions because no one knows what legislation is round the corner.

You have given me much food for thought with your developments so many thanks for sharing it all and taking so much of your valuable time to help peeps like me

Good luck with all your planning but I'm sure you won't need it with all the planning you have made

    All the best

Moved stuff into the 'Van yesterday and will stay in it tonight :) It was fun unpacking and putting everything away.

Our small slow cooker is going to be just the job and the doormat we bought for inside the door, which leads into the kitchen, is just the right colour to match everything else :)

My husband's inflatable boat, kayak and outboard motor fit beautifully into the little shed.

The heating was not working when we arrived. Otherwise the van was ready, had been valeted and inspected by the site. A guy turned up an hour later with a part for the boiler and the heating is now working.

Here's to having some new adventures!

  • We downsized about a year ago. 4 bed house to a 2 bed bungalow. Put extension on the back , money in the kitty and a lovely place to live in, Can't be bad.
