    In customer service maybe. :D

You are obviously not fully aware how internet connections work.

  • I just hope that BT don't employ EE's services department, the reason I left EE was getting between 2-5 texts a DAY from them trying to sell me data packages. In the end I ditched EE & went to BT Mobile where I've had maybe 5 texts from them in the 4-5 months I've been with them. For what it's worth EE told me they "couldn't do anything" about it.....

Not quite. Plusnet seems OK at the mo.

UK customer service centres and good pricing.

How this will go after the merger God only knows and he ain't telling.:A

yea plusnet are ok, apart from restricted upload speeds on the 38mb and the fact they are owned by BT again

    Yes OK.

But Plusnet customer services are manned by call centres in the UK.

Not like BT, mostly in India reading a script which they can't deviate from because they don't understand the nuance of the speaking British culture.

Plusnet are willing to negotiate with you at the end of your contract.

BT basically offer you want they think they can charge you and get away with it. If you haggle with them they might take a fiver off.

As for the 38mb upload speed. No fibre company gives that speed up, only on download speed. So you must be running a server farm or gaming.

i used to say that. till my renewal last nov.

took forever to get through to customer services. It was reported on here a while back a while back they'd cut back on this. they even closed retention's at 7pm now too!

then when i finally got through they couldn't give me a good deal.

so i though "wait until black friday, they'll have some sort of good deal"

waited until hen and nothing materialised.

four good years with plusnet, but some internal meddling from BT have ruined a good product!

I will not be a BT customer out of principal.
I have a mobile phone that is 10 months from the end of a 24 month contract. Will I be able to have it cancelled if BT take over do you think?

Must say also, I know it makes barely any sense due to the BT infrastructure being used by most providers, but after I left BT for TalkTalk my service seemed to improve dramatically. Also my bills halved obviously.

Strange that. I called on 28th November during the Black Friday offers.

I was offered without a fight, free broadband (17mb), down from the £9.99 I was going to pay at the end of my contract. Plus given £75 cashback offer as well. Line rental was being paid in January at the line saver rate

Was surprised because I was expecting to have to really haggle.

I must admit I did do some groundwork before I called up and told them that Sky would only charge me line rental and EE would do it for £1, plus line rental.

You should have rung again. You might have got someone else who would have given you an good offer. Never take the first offer offered.

Having said that, I did, as it was to me, a bloody good offer.

Finally some good news. BT bringing their call centres back to the UK.

No doubt these will also do the EE side of things after a while.

All we need now is for them to use the Plusnet model of customer care.
