Now approaching my first year anniversary of DRO completion, and OMG how different my life is!

OH and I are now engaged, we're getting married in October having been living together since before last Xmas. Our parents have very generously offered to pay for the bulk of the wedding, but we're doing a lot of bits ourselves.
    eg:
My bouquet, bridesmaids flowers (two adults and five under 12s) and button holes (six) are all silk flowers I've put together myself, less than £80 for all of it.

Table centres via the Range totalling £10 per table including lanterns, LED candles and silk Ivy.
.....and my wedding dress was £184.00 on offer from Debenhams :)

OH got a PPI claim paid out in January, which had originally been rejected in 2009

It paid for his divorce, and our new sofa and put his bank account out of his overdraft for a while.

He's now planning to sort out a new interest-free credit card which should save him £40-50 p/m as well!

I've had a semi-promotion at work, payrise to be confirmed this week, on top of my annual percentage increase.

We're now looking towards having a child together after the wedding, DsS from his first marriage is almost nine now but is fitting into age 11-12 clothes, so my charity shop addiction has it's uses!!

I think, the biggest irony on my diary title now, is that I'm actually debt free......... DRO finished in Sep 2014, and I have no credit cards, no overdraft on my bank account, no loans from friends or family....

    :EEK!:

I wrote to all my old creditors asking for recognition of the DRO completion and only one of them didn't change their statuses to 'settled' and I've seen that the same Aktiv Kapital (incidentally from the same Amazon credit card as well) DCA have not updated on other folk's records either so I'll just ignore that one for now.

Checked Noddle yesterday, found my outstanding 'defaulted' entry has been sold again (seriously??) to CPA group? Have copied the letter again for them asking for it to be marked as settled due to the DRO, that's in the post to them today.

Also got OH to sign up, his rating is better than mine, clarified that he does indeed have money on two cards, almost £4k, which he'd previously told me about. We'll get that onto new 0% card/s ASAP, as he's !!!!ing away a fortune in interest rates which I find annoying when he double checks the supermarket receipt to make sure he saved every last penny on his special offers *rolls eyes*

He's great, just has his issues like I do too ;)

My pay rise wasn't processed in time to go into my July pay, but it will be in my August pay back dated to July 1st, should make for a good Bank Holiday weekend at the end of next month!

The biggest hurdle to to my credit rating right now actually seems to be my lack of utility bills... As I moved into OH's exisiting flat, they're all still in his name.

Difficult really, we're getting married in October and will be looking at a bigger house by next year (with his parent's help) and plan to add to our family (DsS is almost nine) so we'll be looking at a joint account and sorting out utilities in a new home within 18 months maximum...

We'll cross those bridges when we come to them I suppose.

They replied yesterday by letter, claiming they needed my full name (they had just my first initial and surname on their letter), address (on their letter) and DOB.

So I screen shotted all relevant details, including the DRO no. etc off Noddle, printed off and returned it with their letter to them with really obvious yellow highlighter and red pen bits all over it. Just to !!!! them off, DCAs make me behave childishly
