My Grandma used to carefully unwrap then iron for reuse - I used to think she was mad and stingy, but it looks like there might be a few genes that have passed onto me after all!
My mum was just the same. She worked in a hotel and on Christmas day she would gather up all the guests' discarded Christmas wrapping paper and bring it home. We would gently peel off the tape, trim it up and iron it flat for use the following year. We had some quite posh stuff from Harrods etc We never bought new wrapping paper. We also saved the folded gift tags and cut off the half with writing and made "new" ones out of the picture half.
I still trim and save wrapping paper for family use. When my children were young I used the smaller pieces for pass the parcel at their birthday parties.

Ooooh thank you! I have never ever been considered creative before but I am quite proud of my efforts with the picture!
Have you got a photo of your pic? I'd love to see it!

Yesterday I made this usefull bag or better known as a peg bag.
This is the latest of x4 peg bags I have sewn from "use to be" fabric.
The Flower fabric, I bought from a CH (= no longer loved item).
The fully lined inside is from a yellow sheet. The zip, I unpicked from use to be clothes.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)
