Also includes black-hat methods such as spamming forums with links in order to improve your positions in the search engines.

It would appear that the OP already knows about this aspect of it though judging by their spammy link to an SEO website.

NEVER use black-hat methods, Google pick up on these easily and demote sites for using them, lots of people used to buy 'backlinks' which google see as spammy an most of all NONE-RELEVANT!! I would post a link but I can't... Search google for DISAVOW LINKS...

    "Disavow links
If you believe your site's ranking is being harmed by low-quality links you do not control, you can ask Google not to take them into account when assessing your site. You should still make every effort to clean up unnatural links pointing to your site. Simply disavowing them isn't enough."
  • Digitally Signed - is also HTTPS (the padlock you see at the left of your web address bar) - This means that the files are encrypted and can't be viewed by anyone who catches them between your computer and the destination

Proxy server - A server that caches web pages for fast retrievel. only queries updates for a web page if it is in its cache rather than the whole page.

Not always a caching server, a proxy is just a server thats between the user requiring information and the outside internet (or network).

    As wiki or google states
In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server and the proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity. Proxies were invented to add structure and encapsulation to distributed systems.[1] Today, most proxies are web proxies, facilitating access to content on the World Wide Web.

As it states doesn't always have to be limited to just web resources though, squid a popular Linux (I think even UNIX) proxy caching server can cache allot of things, it's just you can limit or expand upon it's caching capabilities to things like FTP etc.

Could be either used for security purposes and or caching, sorry to be rather pedantic but that's what the definition of a proxy server is.

I am an SEO/SEM/PPC Specialist, Gosh I love acronyms :)
I would include myself with that, absolutely.

Though you will find (sorry this is more probably twined in with what MVC (which I will explain in a moment) is closely put with Agile development methods where each department in a software company has it's own predefined responsibilities within a development of a system, but agile is allot bigger than just MVC):

Most web developers (me included probably as I am just embarking on going freelance (probably where this exists the most, but that's just a pure assumption, well from the beginning anyway) won't really concentrate on SEO generally speaking (from the start I mean, usually a later thing if at all).

SEO is probably more likely to be used from the beginning by internet marketing consultants really as that's what their jobs should be focussed on from the ground up (I mean I know I am guilty of putting SEO to the back of my mind, or usually the last thing they think about in the development process as a web developer).

    MVC = Model View Controller

Model means how the database will behave or work, like how a process of user data will go through a system, the diagrams of relations between sets of data, in much bigger development house companies this is where the Database developers sit.

View = all the things you see from an application as an end user, doesn't even have to be pretty looking just as long as they see what they should expect to see concerns the view.

Controller = the programmers who make the functionality of a system work (hopefully without any bugs, the php developers if you're talking about some form of web development work).
Doing some indepth analysis of my outgoings it's a real eye opener!

I find if I keep paying by card and keeping the receipts insisting that I have them from the shop, then itemising them when I get home on excel makes my life a whooole lot easier!
