Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right section, please point me elsewhere if another one may be better.

I've been asked to undertake a small amount of work for a company I used to work for on a freelance basis.

This is only for a short time and won't be for a large amount. I haven't worked this financial year and unless I undertake another short couple of stints for this company, won't again until next financial year. I know this isn't going to get me anywhere near my tax threshold (even if I do some more work for them) but I am aware I need to tell some people like HMRC I think.

I'm a complete novice at this so can someone let me know what I need to do? I think there's a difference between self employed and freelancing, though I'm not 100%.

Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks
