hi i recieved my 1st letter today from a private company, debt recovery plus, wanting £150.00, so i rang them to say it was my ex boyfriend so it needs to be put into his name, but they said this is the 3rd letter now so it cant be changed, i did explain to her i had never recieved any letters before this one, but she wasnt helpful at all, he parked in the carpark for the gym and gym owner said to put gym card in window of car, which obvoiusly made no difference, now its all on me and i do not have that kind of money, i told her all i can afford is £5 a month, but she said the least the could except was £20, which i cant afford, and i told her she just said the next letter will be for court, what do i do? i have a baby to support and i dont work? please help or advise from anyone would be great?????

Hi, I recently got a ticket for unloading at an event. I was told I was allowed to unload and not to worry as the councils sign was in fact illegal. The sign was black with white writing and a red border, and threatened for your car to be clamped. This was a council notice and I was wondering, do parking notices hae to follow some kind of standard, ie yellow with a black border?

Hi looking for some advice. Got a ticket for parking in a restricted area during prescribed hours from Edinburgh council. Now when Parkin I did actually look around to try and confirm I was parking within allowed hours, right next to my car was a sign put up prohibiting parking the week before, so I discounted this one, down the bottom of the avenue there was another sign prohibiting parking that day and the next, but it has been modified to disclude the day I was parking. Although I found this odd there was no restrictions for that day as far as I could see! So when I got a ticket I appealed it on grounds there was an old sign and a doctored sign and both were contraindicated to my parking that day!

They refused appeal on grounds there was a single yellow line and a third sign I had missed on entry to the 'zone' which prohibits parking mon-sat except loading and unloading. I realise overall there was an offence committed but on the grounds old signage had been left up and another sign doctored to include then disclude the day I was Parking I find it all very unfair would the fact there was confusing altered signs and old signage up be ground of appeal and be worth going through to the independent adjudicator? I did see the yellow line but as alot of the area the yellow line only applies mon-fri I believed this to be the case. Rather annoying as I had actually gone out my way to check all the available signs just somehow missed the one at the beginning of the 'zone'
