Received a letter from Boots today regarding the "Over 60's discount"

They have announced that there are to be some changes in a couple of weeks and that
instead of the 4 points per £ they were giving, they will now give 10 points per £.

Good news...NO!.....they are removing the 10% discount, so in effect there is a loss!

On a £10 spend I'd receive 4 points & 10% discount, so, at the till I'd pay £9 + have 4 points added to my card = £1 saving (in my pocket) + 4 points (4p to spend at Boots)

Now, same spend I will pay £10 at the till and have 100 points added to my card = no saving at the till and 100 points (worth £1 to spend at Boots)

This would be better on the vent board as it is not connected with any poll that I can see.

There's a thread about this on the over 50s board.

so they are giving you a discount in loyalty funds,
    but its a rip off?
perhaps you should consider what a rip off is.
yes its not as good a deal, but no rip off
As is usually the case in a thread titled rip off......

If you shop at Boots maybe you are being 'ripped off' anyway? What worth these precious points when so often you can get the same product at a discount toiletry shop for 2/3 of the price even? I use a particular cleanser which is £3 at Boots and £2 elsewhere. They can keep their points.
