I'd really like to know if anyone has had a DIY home wedding. Can you have your wedding reception in an ordinary house? Or do you need a massive house and garden - or enough room for a marquee? If anyone has managed to get married in their own home - I'd love to hear how you managed it. Thanks

I don't think you could have the actual ceremony in the house, as you have to be somewhere that's registered and then you have to pay extra to the registrar to come out and do it. It would be far cheaper to get married in a registry office.

As for the reception, I don't see why you couldn't have it at home it all depends on how many guests you want and how big your house is, after that you could spend as little or as much as you wanted on the details.
