Great tip is to get the train from the airport to your resort saves loads. Its a great service and costs less than 2euros a trip. Torremolinos is like 11minutes away. Also great to go from Torremolinos to Fuengirola or Benalmedena
google 'renfe cercanias malaga' for service information
Also visit Tarifa further down the coast for beautiful beaches!!
Also, for the real money savers out there looking for a few drinks - go to the famous Puerto Banus strip (one street behind all the designer shops) and drink all night for free! just get the free drinks and shots from the touts trying to get you into the bars and then move onto the next one, all free! just pay for your taxi ride home
Also visit the Old Town in Marbella for a more cultural experience - its beautiful there! and they do great paella, ice cream and the church is amazing :T
Cacti garden with over 500 varieties - big bonus - clean toilets and bar and refreshment areas.
Just a short walk from the seafront area - look for the Windmill road island and it is just up the hill on the left hand side of the road.
The Pueblo is a nice village to visit - you can go on the local bus -
lots of photos here. Sit in the square with a nice cold drink and watch the world go by.

Also near to the Pueblo is The Stupa -

In my opionion one of the best views of the coast from outside the Stupa.
Arroyo de la mille just up the hill has great food at reasonable prices.
Paloma park is free and lovely to walk through.
Catch the 2nd hand market at the top of Paloma park on Wednesday morning. This has a lot of new things for sale like the normal market but at a fraction of the price. The normal market is on Friday at Tivoli.
Train from airport is approx 1.5 Euros. We usually get a taxi from Benalmadena/Arroyo Station to our apartment for 5 Euros, So it is 6.5 euros versus 25-30 euros in the taxi.
Take a towel to the beach and lay on the sand. Sunbeds are 4 Euros each per day.
If you want to book a car then have a good search on the internet and compare prices. You will always get better prices this way and always pick up the car at the airport, never in the resort.
