    Reminds me of the BBC's Clive Myrie, who I was at university with (he was a friend of my now wife's best friend and so we saw a fair bit of him) - a really top bloke. Anyway, at the time we knew him he had the broadest Manchester/Lancs accent you could possibly imagine (more Fred Dibnah than Happy Mondays), so we were astonished when we first saw him on the news with a perfect BBC home counties accent.

    I must say though that however he speaks, it doesn't half make a difference to the way you perceive the news watching someone you know being shot at by the Iraqui army.
