parking ticket motorway services

7 Posts
Hi Evereyone,
I as a company have been issued a parking ticket from a company called CP Plus Ltd for parking for 3 hours 45 mins MOTO Bridgewater services (M5).
Ok the ticket is not issued to me personally it is addressed to my company. The driver was a sub contractor who does work for me and other companys.
The driver parked in the wagon park intending to rest for a couple of hours but overslept.
He did not buy a parking ticket because expected to be gone within the time limit allowed. He was issued nothing on the vehicle I have been issued with a parking charge notice to the company.
It is not something I would have to pay the driver would pay this I just do not like giving in too easy to these people. I read about court orders and ccjs being handed out for non payments and to be honest this is the last thing I want as a company
Not sure were we stand on this one any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Please ignore it. Please read posts in the parking ticket section.
Ignore any letters including from sols.
They have no appeal process. I can tell you their answer now.
DENIED.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Don't worry, absolutely no chance of a court appearance!
Unlike a council/police notice where the owner/registered keeper is responsible, a Private invoice can only be persued against the driver & the best bit? You have no legal obligation to tell then who was driving
Just ignore everything, including the make believe solictors & debt collectors letters that will turn up. Don't contact anyone at all
IGNORE IT
Would it not be worth writing to CP Plus to explain this and also let them know I have no legal obligation to inform them who was driving.
As the vehicle is hired they may of course try to get the money of the hire company who will then pursue you for the money.
You need to stop the hire company paying them anything or corresponding with them further.
FOllowed the signs to the car pack and reversed into a large parking bay and preceeded to go and get some food and returned about 20-30 mins later.
When we returned the parking attendent gave one of us a ticket and said we parked in a wrong designated zone, packed in a caravan zone apparently, the only spaces big enough to park in.., and then he left.
I checked the signs and there was loads saying no more than 2 hours, but a couple saying please park in the designated bays.
Not paying it, but just want anyones thoughts on this.
We haven`t told the hire company yet, but I assume we have a couple of weeks before they send us a nice letter.
Is it worth telling the hire company, will they be savvy enough to ignore it, or will they pay up and pass the cost onto us.
P.S. There were 3 designated drivers on the minibus..and I`m having trouble of the name of the driver who parked it there...
Many thanks
Gazza.
Also check pepipoo or the parking ticket forum on here if you need further reassurance.
Was he in a lorry? If he wasn't, he should be careful doing that. I blocked someone in overnight as they took up a very badly needed HGV parking space with their car. They weren't best chuffed and even less pleased when Trafpol turned up and confirmed I couldn't move the vehicle until I'd finished my 9hr daily rest.
