... I thought I could use it up in microwave jam pudding - you know, shove the jam and the sponge mix into a bowl and nuke it..... except I can't find a recipe for one - I have been searching the forums, but no luck.....:o ...
might also be worth checking out the Microwave Recipes thread - the link is in the recipes list on the front page of this thread; the top link listed is Curry Queen's excellent recipe for sponge and lots of variations including microwave suet pudding
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
Good morning all.
Just popping in to update siggy and my spends for this month.
Well i`ve come in at £381.04:j:j:j for this month, so under budget, but a few things will carry over to next month, i`m hoping:D. We will see as it`s half term next week and as we all know the kids always have bottomless bellies, during this time.
Please MRSM could you put me down for £400 once again for June.
I`m trying my best to reduce this further, but I think i`m struggling for some reason. I write everything down, have a meal plan, cook almost everything from scratch, but doesn`t seem to work. The kids are constantly hungry, although they both have big adult size meals and snack on fruit and have sandwiches, cerals(fillers like porridge) etc in between meals. It`s not working, if anybody is in the same situation as me with 2 growing angels, could you let me know your secret, as I am pulling my hair out how to fill them up. i know next week will be one contant stream of mum i`m hungry.
Catch you all later.

Right! It's gonna be a NSD today however I may go to the library to get a new cook book which should be fun. Also need to go and get my meds from boots but I pay a prepay for them so they aren't going to cost me anything.
Well bit pigged off as it's my last (unofficial) day for this month today so hubby went to buy some stuff for next couple days, had £10.67 left and the list i did was about £9.50 but he went and bought an extra item so instead of finishing a poundish under i'm now 50p over grr!
I am trying to remind myself though that we have only spent £200.50 for the last four weeks and usually it's anywhere between £300-350!
So at least a hundred pounds saved this month and it shows on my credit card bill which is lower than usual (still needs halving though!). Actually my fault as i'm making myself macaroni cheese and veg bake today and i did try it earlier in the week with cheaper cheese but i only like Mull of Kintyre cheese and its £2.62 a block!! If i hadn't put it on the list we'd have been laughing!.
Start new one tomorrow, really enjoying the challenge at the moment and seeing the savings! Hope everyone has a good day
