this promotion is described in the main site:
£15 Scotrail flat rate returns within Scotland
Shop at any Scottish Sainsburys from Wed 30 September to Tue 20 October and you'll be given a ‘Scotland by Rail’ voucher that lets you buy up to two £15 return tickets or £15 return tickets plus one free child (5-15 years old) ticket.
Customers can travel anywhere on the Scotrail network within Scotland. Outward travel with the vouchers can take place up to Sun 13 December and the return journey has to be within a month of the outbound one.
Routes included: All ScotRail services in Scotland after 9.15am Mon to Fri (there's no 9.15am restriction on the Glasgow Queen Street to Oban/Fort William/Mallaig and Inverness to Kyle/Wick/Thurso routes). There are no time restrictions at weekends but the overnight Caledonian Sleeper service isn't included in the offer.
How to book: You can buy your ticket with the ‘Scotland by Rail’ voucher at a staffed ScotRail station, over the phone by calling 08457 55 00 33 and quoting the Sainsbury's offer or via the special Scotrail web page
Anyone can buy these cheap tickets online.. but does anyone know if you have to show a sainsburys voucher when you present your tickets on board/at ticket barriers??
Will that not depend on the ticket inspector on the train? Some may not ask for the voucher but others might? In which case you risk having to pay the full fare.
My local Sainsburys ran out of vouchers last week - they said more were coming but I went back today (last day of promo) but they still did't have any. I will email them and ask for a couple, worth a try anyway...

Really hope no-one asks to see a Sainsburys voucher!
I (like others) have booked my tickets online and have only as an after thought looked for my voucher. Needless to say, I now can't find the stupid thing. Has anyone been asked to buy another ticket on the train? Could be expensive.....
Thanks.
Just back from Elgin.
Tickets checked several times. No questions asked.
