Ace cant say I have ever eaten pine nuts au naturel but I have just sat down with a plate of food with pesto in it, 1 of the main ingredients pine nuts. Going to be paranoid now.

Interesting but... metal amalgam fillings have a lot more associated problems than pine nuts. Try googling that...

funny, enough my wife and i both had the same funny metallic taste, approx 4 weeks ago, didnt think anymore of it until reading martins blog..... haha

we love pesto sauce on pasta......

I used to eat pine nuts quite often, then last year, noticed some packs tasted 'off'. They were Chinese. I think any country who will contaminate baby food should be completely avoided when it comes to food purchases.

maybe when my son says he cant eat pesto as it makes him feel sick afterwards he is actually correct

he eats all other pasta dishes so i thought he was making a fuss about nothing.

I suffered this a couple of months ago too, after eating pine nuts. I also Googled and found this info - I'd never had trouble eating pine nuts before so I put it down to a bad batch. It was a truly horrible, bitter taste that just wouldn't go away.

Good news was the taste went away after about 4 days.

I'm a vegetarian and Pine Nuts make a considerable contribution to my diet and as a consequence I've eaten them for years. And I have to say that it's not something I've ever come across. But then I dry fry them first as I think they taste better that way. I wonder if that makes a difference??

AAAahhhhh that explains the funny after taste I had a few weeks ago. I have no fillings so couldn't work out why I had a metallic after taste and as I was on holiday I assumed it was because I wasn't used to the food!
