  • So, my January challenges are:
[STRIKE]1) Finish the chocolate covered raisins I have started - that will not take long![/STRIKE] Done :o
    2) Open all the Christmas prezzies! DS still has loads unopened.... at 22mths, I don't think he'll mind if I open the last few! :o
    3) Tax return - have lost my UTR so need to call up for that on Monday:eek:
    4) De-clutter house - DS's toys are taking over, plus I keep stashing stuff with the intention of eBaying it... and its still hanging around now :o
    5) Maintain PAD and NSD challenges... both of these are helping me pyschologically... PAD as its helping me chip away at my debt and NSD because its making me think about everything I spend.
    6) Start exercising! I have been carrying my baby weight for far too long..... I shall start with jogging and sit-ups and see where I go from there!

£43.67 paid off a card for PAD.... two bags for the charity shop already :)

That's what I meant honest!!!! :rotfl:
  • Wow Sarah, well done! So far I've only eaten chocolate. And that wasn't even on my list.
  • I will also finish the bottle of equivalent of choc!! Anyone got a way to sucessfully keep the gb down? Oh yes I will also empty piggy, reseal and start again and will do my level best not to raid him in a few months (although may fail as also feel it foolish to have a full piggy while I could have a useful interest decreasing piggy!!

  • Thanks Panda... it wasn't hard, I just chucked 95% of his toy chest into the bag! I kept some sentimental stuff, but otherwise I am just going to be ruthless, our house is way too small to keep loads of stuff lying around, and with my history of eBaying (or not!) its easier just to take it to the shop.... and hope that MiL doesn't buy any of it back!

Have you used Freecycle? Before we moved, I said I'd Ebay loads and loads of stuff, but didn't do it all. Brought masses with us to the new house and still not attempted it, and it's got to the stage now that I just need rid so I'm sticking loads on Freecycle - feels very liberating. Just passing on my experience as I wish I'd just got rid before we moved rather then the hassle of bringing our junk with us.

Hi, I'd like to join in too please.

I don't think I'd be able to do any of the other challenges at the moment, so it's great I can come up with my own.

    Here's mine:

    1) Stop taking money out of savings account
    2) Triple the amount in my savings by the end of 2009 (Currently I have just over £450 - I want at least £1350 by this time next year. I know it's not much but I'm sooo bad at saving anything).

I hope I can do it.

    Good luck everyone else!!!
    Looking forward to the future.

Think I've just about got sorted now -

    1. Sort the chlidren's rooms and make them a joy to be in.
    2. Save, through surveys, clicks etc. and tackle the smallest debt of mine - Barclaycard.
    3. Declutter the house - room by room, slowly, and carefully. Take back the house as my very own and take pride in it. Do this cheaply/free if I can!!

Think that'll do for now - I'm giving myself 4 months to get them done. :)

  • I have never tried Freecycle, seen mentioned lots here but have no experience of it. Do they literally just come and pick up? A lot of its ebayable but there is that inbetween stuff you're not sure about!
