If you have read the mortgage articles on the site you probably will have noticed that Martin brings up local firms of brokers being able to give a bit of a different service a lot of the time.
I just found https://www.movemeuk.com, they are obviously building up some network of solicitors, mortgage brokers, FA's etc. but they do it in local areas.
Might be worth checking out if you need a local firm to help. In a lot of areas they don't have firms but I rang them and they were very polite and helpful in finding me firms where I wanted them.
The guy explained to me that most of the firms pay to advertise on the site so there are no "referal fees" involved which means you are free to use whoever you want which I liked, but also they try to deal with firms that offer a personal service.
The downside is that you will pay more (well, for solicitors) but the upside I have found is that your case is dealt with directly, rather than my experience of "Team 1" of Countrywide Property Lawyers who never answer your calls!
If anyone else uses it let me know what you think!

No mortgage or financial advisers listed in the 2 ramdon seraches ( Birmingham & Brighton) I did
IMHO local services like mortgage advisers are best sourced from personal referral, rather than paid advertsAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I agree. I cannot be bothered and will not be bothered to register at sites like that. It is no guarantee of quality. The only guarantee is that they paid to be on there.
There are too many of these little sites with big ambitions and they nearly all want payment to be on them. Yet they offer little or no benefit back.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Most of my business comes from referrals as opposed to this kind of advertising.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. True but they have some fairly big names on board already maybe its just the solicitor side. To be honest I dont think its their main business I think its the property thats the main one. Also in terms of what they are doing for their customers it doesnt seem so bad.
My dad is a solicitor and quite keen on Google marketing, try a search for 'solicitors berkshire' (where he works), seems a good idea. But glad to hear you guys get work through referal, its the cheapest type of marketing!!I am a Mortgage Adviser.
