We don't go until the end of August!
:rotfl: But nothing like a bit of forward thinking, eh?
We're only doing it now because no doubt we will remember loads of things we need over the next few weeks, plus we need to make sure we have got putting the camper up to a fine art.
A huge spider was lurking under the winter cover...omg, it was massive.....my Mum was so brave though - it ran under a little metal ridge thing, and just one leg was sticking out, so my Mum grabbed it by the leg, pulled it out and threw it onto the garden. :T What a lifesaver - I swear it was trying to bite a chunk out of me - it looked pretty vicious!

ps Bubbles, I'll send the folks down

You're not the only one!PLeased your M&D brought you wine:T :T
It couldn't have come at a better time - with our recent economy drive, the cupboards chez Snaggles are rather bare, and the only wine we have is a rather dodgy looking fizzy one that someone gave me at Xmas!
Dad had also managed to record the whole series of Doctor Who onto dvd too (very impressive, setting the DVD to record while they were away - I can barely make ours play dvds, never mind record them...), which has pleased Ryan no end.
I know I moan about my Mum and Dad sometimes (with good reason), but they're not bad really.

Morning *checks watch* yep, just about

*Shiver* I have woken up feeling really ill, my head is banging and I'm full of a cold. Someone seems to have taken a cheese grater to the inside of my lungs while I was sleeping too. I'm working until 11pm as well.
Stu is possibly going to be offered his own 'run' at work (the driver who normally covers the run has been rude to one of the customers apparently, and the customer has said if they send him again, they wll cancel their account - they have taken a liking to Stu though!). He's the spare driver at the moment, which is a permanent job, but he never knows from day to day where he will be going, and never gets to know an area well enough to be really fast and efficient.
So getting his own run would be great, but the run has certain collections that have to be done at 3.30pm and 4pm, meaning he might not get home in time for me to get to work (we share the car, and obviously he needs to be here to look after the kids too).
We have come up with a sort-of-plan, which is for me to have the car, him to get the bus to work then at the end of his shift, I will drive the car to his work (with kids in car), he will then drop me off at my work and go home with kids, and I will get a taxi home from work.
The downsides are that the taxi will probably cost around £10, and also if for any reason the taxi doesn't turn up, I am left hanging around on my own at 11pm.
The upsides are that I would only need to do this once a week (twice during school holidays), and he is likely to earn more than £10 a week extra on this run (on a good week he could earn as much as £100 extra), so financially it would be worth it.
We talked about me getting a car, but I'm not sure I want one for the sake of a couple of journeys a week, although if I did want a car again at some stage, I would be better doing it now, otherwise in September I will lose all my no-claims bonus I think. But anything we spent on a car (and it would HAVE to be a cheap, crappy one) would be money we can't spend on the extension.
Wish I could think of another solution!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Sorry, this isn't money related at all, so feel free to skip it...lol!
One of the other Mums came up to chat to me this morning at school. This particular Mum has never spoken to me in all the time we have been going to that school, and I once said 'hi' to her when I saw her in Next (I was windowshopping...), and she barely acknowledged me.
But for the past few days, she has been making little comments, like 'Aww, what a cute baby', and 'Oh, look at her sweet little dress'.... I wouldn't have thought anything of it at all, except that she seems to have made a point of NOT speaking in the past.
Today, she said 'oh, I can't stand next to you, your baby makes me too broody', and then laughed, so we started chatting, and out of nowhere she said 'I'd love another one, but it's a hard decision because I've got one son who is deaf (her son is in Ryan's class and wears hearing aides....such a cute little lad and he copes very well), and one son WHO HAS ASPERGERS SYNDROME'!!! (she didn't shout it, that was just me emphasizing it for dramatic effect!
)
I replied that Ryan has Aspergers Syndrome too, and she seemed surprised, but I reckon that someone must have told her about Ryan, which is why she has been trying to start a conversation with me for the last few days (I now also recall her talking loudly about CAMHS to someone else, while she was stood within earshot of me the other day, which I think in hindsight may have been for my benefit, although at the time I didn't realise).
She introduced me to her son and oh my goodness, it was like looking at Ryan - they don't exactly look alike, but they have the same expression in their eyes. It sort of chilled me but made my heart go out to him at the same time.
We finished our coversation today with her saying 'I'll have to give you my number and we can get together for a chat'. Her son only got his diagnosis 2 weeks ago, and already the school has resources in place to help him, which is probably because they are already up to speed on dealing with autism spectrum conditions because of Ryan. Before Ryan, they haven't had a diagnosed case of Aspergers at the school, and suddenly 2 in the same term! In a way I envy her, because she wont have quite the same battle with the school that we have had, but at the same time, I recognised the bewildered, terrified look in her eyes, and I wouldn't go back to those early days of being newly diagnosed again if you paid me a million pounds.
Isn't it weird how you can suddenly find yourself getting on with someome when life throws you together for some reason - she actually seems like a nice lady - she looked really lost when she was talking about courses, support groups etc, and I really want to help her if I can."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
