New contract hunt...
Hi, im trying to help out my sister by finding a decent mobile phone contract. Shes a 'poor' student, needs lots of texts and lots of minutes. To give you some idea of her intended usage, around 500 texts, 150-200 minutes, and looking to spend around £20/month, ideally something cheaper, but i know thats a long shot. Not too bothered about casback deals either, just something cheap!
Can anyone out there gimme a hand??
Thanks so much in advance!!

Check out O2 student site. There's a link on here in the Sony Ericcson w800i thread. HTH0

i have just got the brand new pink samsung e530 (i love it) on o2 for £19 month i got 500 txt but only 50 mins, i only got this the other day but now the text alowance online has dropped to someting like 200 (dont know why, must have been a promotion) but there are loads of phones like the v3 razor free on the same tarrifWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

yup - o2 or orange probably going to be the best bet for that sort of usage.
not sure if the o2 student tariffs are less than the normal online ones but it would definitely be worth spending a little extra on the tariff to avoid going over the top of it - that'll be more expensive in the end
so o2 have the treats you can add to the tariffs and orange get you half price cinema tickets and if you have an old handset kicking about you can get £50 credited to the account when you join instore (check the tariff's available though, might not be suitable)
of course if she's with either of those already then it might be worth trying to haggle a better deal??"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -

I did an excercise with my O2 contract, i was offered 500tex, 200min for £25 plus a new 6230i nokia, which i was happy with (same deal £30 in previous year) With having some 'customer service issues' i tried vodafone to see if they could beat the deal - to my delight this is what was offered & now what i have subscribed to -
500 free tex, 200 free xnet mins free 6230i phone & free nokia (yes nokia) branded headset for £20 per month with free delivery next day!!!
This must be one of the best value 4 money contracts around!!0 -
Maybe try 3
They've had a poor rating in the past but they've supposedly got a lot better plus their contracts are extemely cheap if u do a bit of hunting.0 -
Internet...................was it a 12 month or 18 month contract pls?
Looking for same sort of deal for someone else who texts more than makes calls and this would be ideal for him.....................

I'm no expert on texting I'd rather have extra minutes and talk to people. However can you not take out one the the cheapy Carephone Warehouse offers (£4.99 line rental) and then buy a text message bundle?0

Apologies - it was a 12 month contract (allowing me to upgrade to another deal sooner) Vodafone are very keen to sign up new deals at the moment, thus offering such a competative package!!Lara wrote:Internet...................was it a 12 month or 18 month contract pls?

I'd rather talk more aswell! lol
I think all the large text deals are with 3 - and they don't have a good reputation or strong enough signal if you read on here:(.0
