Increasing Credit Limit pre Stooze

Dear all, i've just been accepted for my Virgin Money credit card with a limit of £8600 or so. My only other credit card is one I use for work expenses, and that's due for repayment when work pull their finger out and give me the cash.

So I have this large pot which I intend to throw at my ISA followed by high interest account, which will pass into Halifax at £500 per month.

However, being greedy, I want more! What's the best way to increase the limit - do i just say I intend to spend horribly! I don't have any balances on other cards to BT to and I don't intend to lie...

Cheers in advance.

BB

Not heard of anyone getting a credit limit increase on their Virgin activation call recently.

If you had other dormant MBNA backed cards then there's a different trick you can do, but doesn't sound like you have.

Once your card is activate, would normally be about 6 months before you'd be considered for a credit limit increase, so not likely to get one now.

Looks like your only option is to apply for another card with a SBT facility or to get an Egg Money card.

You can stooze without lying, saying that you would like to transfer a balance doesn't necessarily mean that you have a balance needing transferred :)

my OH got a Lloyds tsb card with 5k limit and on receiving the card called and asked whether she could get a increase in limit as she wanted to balance transfer 6700 voila they actually gave it to her and did the BT then and there. I was surprised as I had never heard of it.
