Late Fuel & Currency Surcharges: Name and Flame the airlines/tour operators here!

As more and more people are posting on here that they are getting fleeced for unfair extra surcharges AFTER they have paid for flights and holidays, maybe we should start naming the airlines and tour operators here, so that MSEers have the opportunity to avoid these companies:

Just to make it clear, the ones we want are the airlines/tour operators who add extra surcharges AFTER you've made the booking. Virtually all airlines have fuel surcharges included in the final ticket price, but you know about this when you book the ticket. We're interested in the ones which are charging you more money later, often just before you go on holiday!!

Tour Operators & Travel Agents:

Goldtrail
Aegean Flights (Holidays 4 U Ltd)
Fleetway Travel (alleged surcharge due to currency fluctuations)
Wings Abroad

Airlines:
British Ex-pat in British Columbia!

Not sure it's possible to keep track of this.

i.e. Malaysia Airlines return flight to Kuala Lumpur increases £60 on Tuesday.
Thai Airways return flight to Bangkok increases $240 (two hundred and forty US) at the end of the month
BA - two increases this month

Anyone with any ability should be paying for their air tickets up front, and ensuring their tour operator gets the tickets issued, thus preventing them from being liable for fuel surcharges,

HiI'm not sure how these airline surcharges work. I'm flying with AA in a couple of weeks time to the US, I paid for my tickets in February and on the AA website my reservation is listed as 'ticketed' in February.Does anyone know if I will be facing an additional charge and if so how much? Thanks

No. It's been ticketed you are not liable anymore.

I don't get it. I've paid in full for my LHR-DAR flight in October - are you saying they could charge me extra now for fuel???

    No...................
  • dont bet your life on it lol

I work for a travel agents and have had lots of people for charter flights who have paid in full who have had to pay a surcharge, not sure if scheduled flights work differently from charter ones, but people seem to suggest if it has been ticketed then you wont have to pay, do you have your tickets?

abta have seem to have said if a provider issues a fuel surcharge people departing within a month wont have to pay it, I have been taking money for surcharges for september/october etc but this is mainly with goldtrail and custom flights on onur air

I paid in full last September for my flights to Dalaman in this October with Aegean Flights and still got a letter asking for extra fuel charges.
