Debate House Prices

In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. HP reportage- who would you say offers the sanest?

plenty of us on this board use the popular media (in all its forms) to confirm/contradict.

most of us are familiar with the silliest (think krusty), but I'd be interested to know if there is a hack who can be consistently relied apon to deliver a dispassionate and informed opinion on HP's - the type of journo who history judges the more level-headed and accurate.

I only ask because I'm becoming increasingly frustated with the standard of some hacks in this area, who would be better off employed with a provincial rag that headlines with 'local man buys round'.

TBH, a lot of the posts here have been far better in terms of factual content over the past year.

so?

I like the views of this young(ish) lady:

    http://www.moneyweek.com/file/9099/new-to-moneyweek.html

She's appeared on TV a few times and has, I think, unbiased views.

Merryn is an STR so a vested interest

    doesn't make her wrong though.

always be aware that all news has an agenda behind it, when you can understand that, and discover what the agenda is, it makes it a lot easier to get closer to the real story.
    It's a health benefit ...
  • Might I add that internet forums do too (at least people who post on them). That's why we should all strive not to take everything/posts/posters too seriously. At least we should form our own opinions.
    It's all about the agenda.
