OK, this might be a little sneaky but I've always done it and it's worked.

I plan each excursion day of my holiday out and plan how much it's going to cost. Then I write to each attraction and say that I am a lone parent on benefit and on a budget. I explain that this is our one holiday of the year. then ask if they could see their way to sending me a money off voucher of some kind. They usually send a child's free admission voucher or a voucher for a free child's meal. You can also write to all the places which you wish to eat in. I know it's sneaky and like begging but you can cut the cost of your holiday expenses that way.
