Hi guys, hope you can help as I don't know what to do.
I have just sold some shoes to a person from Czech Republic with 100 % feedback score of 481. I explained that postage to Czech Republic would be £13 this would be for international signed for with insurance. The buyer paid for the item at the said cost plus P&P but has then sent me an email saying:
Would you do as the buyer requested and send Airmail Small Packet or would you do as invoiced international signed for.??

Hi, do you mind to send via Airmail Small Packet, not signedFor? On my responsibility of course. If it is OK for you I will pay the invoice you made and you will "partially refund" me through paypal after you send the item and will know the exact cost? Is it OK? I am always do it with a sellers if we dont know the real cost. Thanks in advance!

No, you can't get pushed around by buyers.
But I may be wrong, but you may not be covered under paypal so it doesn't matter if its signed for or not.0 -
Like Armitage says there is no paypal protection anyway so maybe you might want to consider just sending airmail?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. PayPal protection surely doesn't come into it. If you don't have a tracking number and the buyer says he didn't receive the item, PayPal will give him his money back and there's not a thing you can do about it. Also, Airmail postage only provides a small amount of insurance.
This happened to me awhile ago (buyer requested I send without tracking), and I very nearly got scammed out of £130.0 -

Paypal protection only works if item is tracked to a confirmed address, therefore no confirmed address no point in using tracking.
Standard mail, tracked or otherwise is covered up to £36 of loss whether sent in the UK or abroad. Items over £36 need more insurance and a different postal method to be covered against loss in the post.
There is an enormous difficulty selling items over £36 to overseas buyers outside of the US, which is why many of us restrict overseas sales to £36.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If the item is worth more than £36 you would be best to stick to international signed for small packet as you can't insure untracked airmail.0

Absolutely, always think of the potential loss to yourself when choosing postal methods. Likewise within the UK alway suse special or parcels with added insurance for items over £36 regardless of the status of the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. But PayPal protection doesn't mean you automatically win a dispute does it?
Not using a trackable postage method opens the seller up to another avenue for losing their money and/or item, regardless of whether it was sent to a confirmed address or not.0 -

yes it does, tracked to delivery to a confirmed address guarantees the seller a paypal win assuming all th eother requirements are OK< like sent within 7 days etc.Not using a trackable postage method opens the seller up to another avenue for losing their money and/or item, regardless of whether it was sent to a confirmed address or not.
All items up to £36 have the same insurance with Royal Mail whether they are tracked or not, so tracked to a paypal unconfirmed address is likely to leave the seller out of pocket as they have not complied with the confirmed address requirement. Obviously if RM track something to a person then there is no claim for loss from them either and that leaves the seller chasing a small claims action against a buyer.
Items over £36 need to go tracked and insured regardless of buyer status just to be protected against loss en route.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The PayPal user agreement states:
"A Chargeback is covered if it was due to non-receipt of merchandise, or an unauthorized payment. A Reversal is covered if it was due to an unauthorized payment. The Seller Protection Policy does not cover Claims for Significantly Not as Described or for non-receipt of merchandise, or sales of intangible goods, services, or licenses for digital content. PayPal Claims are not covered by the Seller Protection Policy. For more information on winning a PayPal Claim see the Buyer Protection Programs section of this agreement."
It doesn't cover PayPal claims, it only covers credit card charge backs and payment reversals.
As I said, if you post with a non-tracked method, you will lose a dispute for non-receipt of goods regardless of whether or not you are covered by Seller Protection. Whether or not the address was verified has nothing to do with PayPal claims. It is the tracked delivery method that enables sellers to win these.0
