Might have found something to rent

OK, a poperty has come up that I'm really interested in. And is £60 a month less than a similar property in the same 'complex' or whatever the word is.

Gonna arrange for a viewing tomorrow.

But, what do you reckon the odds are that they would say take £700 a month (advertised at £740) if I offered to sign a 12 month lease?

Bearing in mind this property has only just turned up on Rightmove!

I've always found it hard haggling rent terms as most go so quick in Apartment builds these days.
I learned about debt the hard way and the best way :)

Good luck with the negotiating. We are looking for a place to rent but were told it's a landlord's market at the moment as there are more people looking to rent than there are properties, so they don't need to reduce their prices. However, it's always worth a punt. Let us know how you get on.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T

Maybe the higher priced one might negotiate as it's been on a while now.

    £700??? Blimey, you're posh!
That's a lot of rent for one person.
You've been suckered in by the shiny places!

    Yes I have! :D

But in all fairness it's as cheap as it's gonna get. I'm moving further out as where I am is on average £150+ more for the same sort of property.

Anything cheaper and I'm in 'sh!thole territory'. One bed flats generally seem to be in the more 'upmarket' areas of where I'm looking and are more than the 2 beds! :undecided

I'm in a studio. Cheap as chips. Cheaper council tax too. And less heating, less cleaning - and less need for "stuff"

Yeah but the only ones in the area I'm looking are in the crack holes. I'd rather pay a bit extra to know my alloys are safer. :)

£700 - £800pm is normal for a decent place, within or near to M25. A West London suberb such as Chiswick or Kingston could be considerably more.

That's what I found. I'm heading further away from London aswell which means journey times and petrol costs will go up but the rent got cheaper to make it cost effective. :)

Yes, Pasturesnew is right though, by the time you add on Council Tax, gas, elec, B/band, insurance etc its a hell of a lot of money, out of one salary.
