Settings up dsl router with virgin cable

Hi all,

I need some help trying to set up a belkin router with virgin cable. I have set all the connection's up right but when I use the cd to get the settings it says it cant get the settings, so is there way to hand type the settings ? also where could I find these settings ? or any links to website that could help be good Thanks

    Assuming this is Virgin cable, then I think the key here is if it's an ADSL router it won't work - they don't have the WAN connection needed for a cable modem.

    If it's a DSL/Cable router without a modem built in, you just need to power off the modem.
    Connect the router up to it (via it's WAN port, usually set slightly apart from any LAN connections).
    Power modem up and wait for it to finish locking on (when the sync/connections lights are steady).
    Turn router on.
    Turn on/reboot any PC's connected to the router.

    All I had to do was plug everything together and turn the power on

    Yep thats all you do, infact due to probs with main PC, I am using nephews Win98 PC.
    All I did was fit network card,connect to NetgearRP614 router, boot up PC with PuppyLinux live CD.
    Now have useable PC.
    Move along, nothing to see.
