  • well if he closes the dispute then you can do what you want cos he wont be able to open another one. Then you can do what you think is right.

He sounds like a complete lech to be honest, i would never trust anyone that sent me a text like he did. Paypal might find in your favour yet (although unlikely).

Just forget about it for now, i dont know how paypal think you are going to refund when you havent got an account with them,

I would be the one reporting him to the police Just block all emails all contact from him and if it comes down to it Refund via ebay or paypal should you be asked to do so

I have never done this but this was the info I had from PayPal:

    EDIT:

Sorry I missed you deleted account.

    So ignore comments below.
    To send a Refund:

    1. Log in to your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.co.uk/

    2. Click on the History tab

    3. Locate the transaction to be refunded and click 'Details'. Only
payments with a status of completed, pending, uncleared or cleared can be
    refunded

    4. Click the 'Refund Payment' link at the bottom of the page

    5. Make a refund offer and click 'Submit' on the Refund Offer page

    6. Confirm the details of the refund offer and click 'Process Refund'
to transfer funds to the buyer

Once the refund has been completed, it will post as a separate transaction
and can be viewed in the Recent Activity or History transaction log

    Thank you for the replies.

I was talkin to him on msn earlier. And he kept saying he is in charge. I asked him if he would close it. Obviously i know he has the doubt in his mind whether i would refund or not. But i have told him i will refund on the 11th/12th as soon as i get an email saying the dispute is closed, i will be refunding.

If i had the choice i would not refund, but i do not have proof of the item sent and i do not want the police knocking on my house either.

Will i need to send paypal an email with the transaction ID because its a new account (same email address) for proof of my refund? Thank you.

Also excuse my language but he was trying to chat me up on MSN. I did not sell it via ebay, i sold it via gumtree - well it was an ad. Thank you

  • you are very brave talking to him on msn lol, after his previous attempt at (trying to) chat you up. Anyway its a civil matter the police would never knock at your door over it (unless it was a stolen table lol).

Well just wait to see what paypal say first before you worry about how you are going to refund him. Im not sure what will happen with your now closed account but they may open it back up themselves and refund it then you would be left with a negative balance.

So dont send him a cheque or send him a refund until paypal tell you to, and see what happens to your old paypal account first, cos i would strongly advise you dont do it via another paypal account.

btw how did you send it? if you sent it by courier maybe they will have record of the tracking number

Yeah. He said if i sent a cheque he would then close the dispute once its been cashed. I kindly told him where to go. Ive already called the couriers, they said they cannot help. Glad to know the police will not knock on my door, and no it was not stolen lol. I wasnt sure whether they would knock on over 52 pounds any way. Sorry to sound dumb, but whats a negative balance? I appreciate all replies, thanks.
