silly question! but....

im in terrible financial trouble,on a DMP with the CCCS and now thanks to the Northern Rock hiking my mortgage up im going to have to sell my house and go into private renting,now the silly bit....would the fact that my credit rating is so bad affect me in being able to rent?

    It depends what checks the LL or LA do, try to find a LL that is new to the game, probably will only do ref checks.

    thanks,just read a post lower down regarding my question,and it doesnt look good for my wife and i regarding the credit checks.
    if i cant rent what else can i do?

    You can always negotiate either additional monthly rent payments up front or a larger deposit. Once you have established your reliability over a period of time you can then try to negotiate back down again.

    I'm sure i have read on here somewhere that Landlords want 6 months rent upfront for tenants with a dodgy credit history. So not impossible for you to rent a place mickey66 if can sell and get some equity back.
