Does it matter on what day you fly?

Hi folks,
I need to fly to Chang Mai in Thailand for approximately a 7 night trip at the beginning of July.
I'm fairly flexible with dates and length of stay. So whilst a Saturday to Saturday would be handy I could fly out on a Saturday and return on the Sun or Mon making my stay a little longer if it is cheaper.
Does anyone know what days are usually the less expensive to fly. I'm guessing that most people fly on a Saturday so perhaps I should consider a Mon or Sun flight?
I'll start another post about advice on good deals to Chang Mai so not to complicate this thread;)
Any advice would be appreciated;)

Airlines usually have rules that if you stay a Saturday night, you get a better deal. Also many have weekend surcharges for flights on Friday/Saturday/Sunday.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are S0466/3973. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. Atol numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. I usually find flying on a weekday is cheaper than the weekend, excluding Fridays, whether it's long haul or short haul. But it's very easy to find out. Just put different dates into the search on whatever site you look at.0

To answer your questions specifically, Thai now have weekend surcharges of £10-ish each way. No other airlines to my knowledge charge more to Thailand for weekend flights.
However, quite simply people book weekend flight first to maximise their holiday (most people have Saturday - Sunday holidays to make the most of their 2 weeks off work), so it's down to supply and demand, so you will frequently pay more for flying at weekends unless you are ones of the first to book. For July, i'm guessing a Mon / Tue to Mon / Tue flights would be best!0
