Selling in paper .Now getting EXTREMELY abusive and threatening texts

I could just bury my head in the sand this week as it is non stop aggro!
I put an advert in the local paper for a game and got texts asking for it for a a third of its price. I replied saying no but thank you. He then kept texting saying i live in so and so area and if you deliver it to me i will pay what you are asking. I texted as it was his 3rd pretty cheeky text and just said "no thanks". then i got a really horrendous text saying that what f**ing do i think i am playing at and what a complete p**** i am and it went on and on. I was so mad i immediately rang back and funnily enough they did not answer. I left a message saying that i am not surprised that they did not answer and how dare they send a text like that and that i am not a delivery service.
Next he texted back and said that he is going to come and get me and smash my face in. I rung my phone conract people and they said that they cannot block him.
I then texted him again and said that one more message and i will seriously report this to the police. He that said what about?..someone just wanting to buy something from you?!
What would you do ? I am just worried as my home number is on that advert also and i cannot get it removed from the site as no one is there today.

  • Just ignore him, he sounds like a little kid who won't do anything. If you're really worried, report it to the police (I assume you still have the messages he sent you), though whether they'd be able to track him, I have no idea.

  • Absolutely no question in my mind. I would take your phone down to your local police station. You have been threatened. Using threatening behaviour is an offence.

the police will do something if he is threatening you.
I had a similar problem with someone I took the phone to the police who then traced the number and charged the person I also changed my numbers home and mobile so they could no longer contact me. Bt will change your number for free. My mobile was payg sim so i just sent off for a free one off the internet. the person contacting me was ringing 50 times a day all got to much.
The police advise you to not react not text back because the caller just wants a reaction from you and if you dont react they will get bored and stop
    lots of small steps
will get you a long way

Assuming you've kept the original text threatening to smash your face in, there is the threat and the evidence. The texter, is a muppet for then trying to act innocent.

Remember though, revenge is bad, so don't ever think about putting that number on a contact or escorting website....
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
