paying off mortgage capital with credit card

hi all, I currently have some savings and was wondering whether instead of paying off the mortgage straight away i should take out a 0% credit card and pay off some of the mortgage with this, put my savings into a high interest account until the end of the 0% credit card term. Does anyone know whether i can do this legally. The building society seem to think that this isn't possible. any advice on this most welcome.

will your mortgage company allow payments by credit card? Most will not.

But if they do then you could use a 0% on purchase card to achieve this.

However, you can do this anyway by simply using the card for 'normal' shopping... petrol, food etc and save the money in a saving a/c until the 0% period ends....... its called slow stoozing as oposed to 'normal' stoozing which utilises a 0% BT CC.
