Bottle Sterilising tip for new parents

If you have a combined microwave/grill/convection oven, make sure you have removed your microwave bottle steriliser before preheating the oven to cook a Pizza
Fortunately the 24 hour Tesco down the road sells them (bottle sterilisers & pizzas).

Something tells me you have just done this:P
Now we should have a list of all the daft things we all do as new parents. I'll start by steraliser in the fridge instead of the microwave (sleep starved and stupid, nothing changes except i now get a little more sleep);)0 -
remember to check child is in car seat before strapping it into car...and not still in cot/bouncer/pram etc. i nearly drove off, thinking he was secure in the back...
also don't leave bottle warming in boiling water [not on hob etc, but in a bowl] for 20 mins whilst you snooze, it nearly sets.
ok...please don't call social services, i am a good mum really0 -

Yep, got Pizza out of fridge & set combo oven to 200 C to preheat. Took little one from OH & gave him the rest of his bottle. OH looks in kitchen & says "I've already sterilised those". You can imagine the rest.
I got an emergency replacement electric one from Tesco, which will probably save money as it runs at 420 watts, compared to the microwave at 1000 watts for a similair amount of time. So some money saving on the electric

Don't leave baby contentedly gurgling on changing mat on bathroom floor for 5 mins whilst you get dressed, you might remember him 2 hours later, all gurgled out!
He's only 6 weeks old, dread to think what I might also "forget" in the next 18 years!:eek:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Don't forget to check baby's travel bag before you go out. My OH always assumes that any bag is ALWAYS fully loaded with nappies, wipes, bags and seasonal spare clothing. Even if he has used the last nappy the day before......I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0

did you put a clean nappy on him first? if i leave splodge on the mat for even a second (i'm always taking off his nappy then realising the clean ones are still in the basket of clean washing) he ALWAYS wees all over the place :rotfl:52% tight0 -

Well, it was clean when I forgot him, can't say the same by the time I remembered him!
PS : You have a clean laundry basket??? Crikey I'm impressed, ours has to go straight from the line to the cupboards or else it never makes it onto our backs!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
