Which credit card companies separate transations by Card and supplementary card

Hi

I currently have a Citibank card, which is nice in the way that it separates out transactions purchased by both my girlfriend and myself (she has a supplementary card).

I took this card out a couple of years ago when there were AAdvantage miles available for a flight to the states. It is now approaching the aniversary though and there is a £25 charge for the card. I would rather get a new card to avoid this charge.

What I want to know is are there any other card companies who split the transactions out like this. from memory, MBNA do not.

Amex split it into different cardholders.

I actually found it extremely inconvenient when reconciling spending using MS Money in that all the transactions I entered were by date order yet I had to go through all my card spending and then my wife's rather than a chronological list each time I balanced the account when the statement arrived. Suppose it has its uses though.

It might be worth ringing Citicard and suggesting they swap your card for a cashback card with no fee otherwise you'll cancel.

Bad cards! May I ask if you have them?

To me, it's just weird that additional cardholder's transactions are mixed with the main cardholder. Additional cardholders have separate cards with different card numbers. This would make it very difficult to spot any irregularity in the statement.

If anyone is considering getting an additional card for then I would suggest to avoid getting the cards mentioned by CopperPlate.

American Express, Capital One and HSBC do separate lists of transactions for every additional cardholder.

Add Cahoot to the list of DO NOT.

    Cheers, Des.

From experience the only ones I've ever had that split transactions were first direct and citi. I actually found it quite irritating when they did it - and I've had a fair few cards in the last decade or so!

Horses for courses I suppose, really depends on what you want the card for. In my situation I just want to easily see what has been paid for by which card to avoid any confusion or mistakes over who spent what. It is sill paid for half and half so that is fine.

I can completely understand why this would be annoying if they were all split out though, esp for financial packages etc...

Many thanks for all your info. Hopefully this will be a useful thread for reference if anyone is in my situation in the future.

Capital one would seem to be an option, or the BMIbaby card.
